RE: Why does the Switch get so many tempting re-releases?

in Hive Gaming5 years ago

Don't forget about the unbelievable ports of Doom (2016) and The Witcher 3 on Switch. It boggles my mind how they could cram such huge games on those cartridges. The novelty of playing these on a portable system really makes me consider buying them again in their glorious low resolution.
Also, I like the idea of a "play anywhere" system of buying games, but it scares me as the control the publishers would have over the end product would be limitless, and as we have already seen on many, they are all too happy to wipe away a game which doesn't bring the big bucks.

Sort:

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is another remarkable port. Wolfenstein too - not to mention the excellent first party games from Nintendo.

I share your fears around the publisher play anywhere system that I've rambled about here - but it would be good to get true multiplat titles that you can take anywhere - like the ability to transfer saves from switch to pc for The Witcher 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2.

Now I just need to go get more, larger micro sd cards...
