A bit of colour
It's around two years now since we moved into our new house and I figured it was about time that I added a splash of colour, so I have started planting a few bits and pieces around the garden.
Here are my Lillies which I'm delighted with. I love the orange against the blue pots and there are a few of them yet to bloom, so they are far from at their best yet. I'm looking forward to seeing them burst into bloom in the coming weeks.

Monkey Puzzle
Don't ask me why, but I've always loved Monkey Puzzle trees. I'm not sure what it is or was? Was it because they looked that little bit different? Was it because of their symmetry which I do like in general? Was it the fact their name has monkey in it? Possibly? All are possible. What's clear though is I love Monkey Puzzle trees.
My wife soon learned this and surprised me a few years back with my very own little Monkey Puzzle tree which we purposefully potted and didn't plant in the ground as we were still living in Ashbourne and I knew for sure that would not be our forever home!
So it lived it's first years in a pot and to be honest it spent too long in a pot and it's roots started lapping around and around that pot, and I was oblivious until I recently planted it in our front garden in Galway which will be it's last home. It's still only three foot tall, but these bad boys grow to a height of 30 metres, so 30 times bigger than now, which is pretty cool, especially as the boys will remember when they were taller than it.

More Planting around the garden

Give Thanks
Well I can't take credit for all of the colour as these were here before we moved in and have matured nicely.

There is also this Oak which looks lovely this evening with the setting sun, but for some reason they cut this down and what is growing back isnl very erratic and I'm unsure what to do with it.

Thanks a million for stopping by
Peace out.

Dry stone wall? I'm a little jealous of that, I love those things. It's nice to have a little colour around the place to brighten things up.
Ya man, we really like dry stone walls, there's loads of them in the West of Ireland where we are. Two of our boundary walls are dry stone walls
Wall porn! Lol.
You have a large allotment there, nice!
Wall porn!! 🤣🤣
My third favourite porn.
I've got to ask, what's your second fave!!! :)
Lol...I knew you'd say that...making my own porn.
Can't beat a little colour in the garden! And love that pic of the sun going down. Summer dreams!
Hey hey, thanks a mil, love a bit of sun, sorry for late reply!!
That garden will be a beauty of that, I have no doubt, I loved everything I saw in those images, congratulations.
Thanks a lot, little by little I am trying to add more colour to it..
That’s looking great already.
It’s nice to add colour to the garden and make it yours. Enjoy it 🌺🌼🌸
Ya it's nice to add some colour, especially perennial stuff that will come back year after year. Did you guys find a house in the end?
Yes, the perennials are great to see and watch evolve for years to come.
We did find a rental house after the first one fell through. Luckily all in time for the movers to bring our stuff. Thought I told you in May… but could have missed, as it was so crazy and busy for some weeks.
We are not in the spot we wanted to be, but it is a good base to look around for something to buy later on. Also to explore all the beauty that’s around 😊
Thanks for asking. Have a nice evening 👋🏻
Sounds we are both as forgetful as each other 🤣
So much going on that it's hard to remember everything. Glad to hear you have a base for now, good for ye, and great to have ye in the West.
Sounds indeed like it hahaha 🤣!LOL
Thank you so much @ablaze 😊 it’s great to be here in the west 😎 can’t wait to explore…
Good stuff, sounds fantastic, well if you ever make it down near Galway let me know and we'll meet ye.
Oh, we will for sure. I let you know, would be cool to meet up. 🤓

I love monkey puzzle trees. They are great and look so prehistoric! I saw them in a garden shop and the missus was like, no fecking way those things grow huuuuuge! I am jealous!
Ya there's something about them that I just love!
They do get pretty massive in fairness!! 🤣🤣🤣
What a thing to have though, everyone notices a monkey puzzle tree!
Ya I do love it.... I hope I didnt goose it though by keeping it in a pot for too long in our old house, I did not want to plant it in garden there, as I knew that was not going to be our forever home... The roots started wrapping around itself as a result, hopefully it will be OK, seems pretty healthy to be fair..
Aye, it will be fine. I had a tree thing that the roots were so wrapped around the pot they were coming out of the top and the bottom and I could barely see any earth but once it was out of that it was fine. Just took a while for it to realise it wasn't potted anymore!
