Posting my garden updates to HiveGarden and seeing others' garden through posts on Saturday or Sunday becomes my new routine. I enjoy doing so a lot.
It's getting more and more summer-ish in my region, east part of Germany. Summer plants finally takes off. Tomato flowers are open, bean vines climb up the balcony rails.
As my balcony is small, I planted more edibles than flowers. When I have limited space, it's always my regret ... 😅 You may not see them blooming yet but at least I planted Calendula, Cornflower, Cosmos, Marigold, Zinnia ... and I have a pot of Rose geranium.
But still it's nice to have more flowers for me and also for beneficial insects such as bees. Following this excuse, I bought a pot of Craspedia the day before yesterday. How cute the round cluster of flowers are!
The flowers can be dried. The current ones are dropping pollen and I guess they are too mature for dried flowers. I look forward to drying some from the next batch.
Last week I wrote that I will install a jute trellis net for climbers but I missed the packet ... Luckily the climbers are not tall yet. It is on my TODO list for next week.

(By the way, do you know Hive Fest takes place in Amsterdam, Netherlands this year? It's a dream place for gardeners. I think about attending Hive Fest after 2018, and look forward to meeting gardeners there!)
今週のうちのミニバルコニーガーデンの様子です。多分HiveGardenの中で一番小さい庭・・・😁
また暑い日が戻ってきて、トマトの花が咲いて、豆の蔓がバルコニーの柵を登り始めました。少しずつ夏野菜が成長しているようです。
今の庭のようにスペースが限られていると、特に私は食べ物ばかり植えてしまい、花がおろそかになります。とはいえ少しは進歩して一応コスモス、カレンデュラ、マリーゴールド、矢車草、百日草などうわってはいるんですよ。
花がないのは寂しいなあ・・・というのを言い訳に、クラスペディアを一鉢買ってきました。ポンポンまるまるかわいいですね。ドライフラワーにもできるすぐれものです。今咲いているものはもう花粉を落としていてドライにするには遅そうなので、次に咲いたら一部乾燥させたいです。
そんなこんなの今週のバルコニーの様子でした。毎週バルコニーを定点観測して投稿を書いて、HiveGardenの他のガーデニングファンの投稿を見るのが楽しみになっています。
