Took the first real harvest off one of the gardens tonight, this is from my first planted garden. so far all ive been harvesting is a few tomatoes here and there but tonight i picked some brocolli and asperagus aswell as radishes, green beans, head lettuce and tomatoes and made a nice big salad and then blanched and froze some broccoli and asperagus for later. and boiled up the beans for the kid cause she could live off beans. cant wait to do the full harvest for farmers market tho i have over 900 bean plants this year so gonna be quite the mother load this next week when i pick them all.
I garden for 2 reasons, 1 im good growing shit and around her fresh organic vegtables sell for a arm a leg so its good money as i use 0 chemicals just water and compost and ALOT of picking weeds. 2 kids, i dont like feeding them the store bought garbage thats been sprayed with several types of chemicals before it hits the store, Most people dont even realize the amount of shit that gets put on their food.
Reallly not much better than harvesting from your own garden!
