October 18th, 2025This week we welcome a new BRONZE VIP, @segundolhou29, who came onboard with a 50 HP delegation. She's now eligible for the daily footer raffles and the big weekly raffle posts like this one where 100% of the post rewards go right back to the delegators that keep ASEAN Hive alive and thriving. She also happened to be the only challenge entry for last week, so she'll be getting a well-earned 40% beneficiary in the next post.
My family are still struggling to figure out life in the USA and why we are being paid less than minimum wage to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and to be on-call when not officially working. We've hardly gone anywhere or done anything in the nearly 6 months we've been here, and it's very sad to see we haven't even earned enough for tickets to get us back home to Cambodia. We are now stuck in the same economic trap that caused me to flee to Cambodia in 2010 with only $500 to my name.
It seems foolish to leave now though as my daughters will never get citizenship, but honestly we haven't made any bonds with family or friends here, and the USA isn't really an affordable or interesting country to travel in. As far as using American passports to access other countries, we can't afford to travel in or visit any of the countries these possible American passports will allow them to access. My only hope is that I can start an NGO here and use it to build a school or help my village back in Cambodia, but people here look down on my family for being poor, so it's not the best place to look for sponsors due to the xenophobia and America-first attitude that is common here. How The VIP Delegator Raffle Works
Every raffle I tally the total HP delegated to the @asean.hive curation account, and one raffle ticket is allocated for each HP delegated by you ASEAN Hivers (excluding [me] @justinparke, @srey-yuu, @sakana & @sreypov), with a minimum delegation of 50 HP to be eligible for the ASEAN Hive VIP 🥉 BRONZE Raffle.
There are five separate raffles, one for each VIP tier, and each tier's prize is a post beneficiary status equivalent to the tier's total percentage of raffle tickets allocated. This means the percentages of each tier's share of the prize is fluid, and I think it makes the raffle more fun and fairer.
This week's total effective HP is 204,311 HP, and total delegated HP is 191,720 HP (145,003 HP minus ASEAN team member delegations & delegations under 50 HP), so I plugged the numbers into my Raffle Picker iOS app, selected "pick winners," and the results were instantly and randomly calculated.
