Hello Hivers, I would like to introduce you all to the ASEAN Hive Community to, a place for all SE Asian content on the Hive blockchain.
WHAT IS ASEAN? 🌏
ASEAN is acronym for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a regional intergovernmental organization set up to promote cooperation, trade, sociocultural and various other programs among ASEAN member countries.
ASEAN member countries are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam.
WHY ASEAN HIVE? 🐝
As many nation-based Hive communities are popping up on the Hive blockchain, a realization came to me that many countries and parts of the world lack a sizeable Hive userbase.
One of these parts of the world is SE Asia, a place full of young, tech-savvy and eager-to-learn citizens. A Hive Community for this underserved part of the Hive-osphere sounds like a good idea to me, so the ASEAN Hive Community seems a good fit for the Hive blockchain.
I've (@JustinParke) spent 10 years of my adult life in Cambodia, and now work primarily from my new home in Suriname as an online Cambodian language instructor.
My family, @Sreypov and the @KidSisters, many of whom you Hivers already know, are Cambodian citizens, and living with me in Suriname.
@Sreypov has been #posh'ing a lot of her Hive blog posts on her Facebook timeline, and it has peaked a lot of Cambodian and Thai interest, and we feel a Hive income stream could be a major lifeline for many working-class SE Asian citizens, especially those in rural areas.
With the ASEAN Hive Community and the @ASEAN.Hive account, we hope to provide a place for all Southeast Asian-related content, not just a community for Southeast Asian users, as well as curate Southeast Asian content on the Hive blockchain.
WHO IS ASEAN HIVE FOR❓
ASEAN Hive Community is not just for citizens of ASEAN member countries.
Whether you are from Southeast Asia, are ethnically a Southeast Asian, live in Southeast Asia, or just have Southeast Asian content, you're welcome to post in ASEAN Hive Community.
WHAT CONTENT IS RIGHT FOR ASEAN HIVE? ⌨️
Any non-NSFW Southeast Asian-related content is material you can post in ASEAN Hive Community. English is the official language of ASEAN Hive Community, just as the ASEAN Organization, but multi-lingual posts are welcome, as long as English is one of the languages used.
Politics, food/cuisine, travel, health, product reviews and just about anything else is all fair content for ASEAN Hive, as long as it relates to Southeast Asia in some way, and is made clear within the post.
ASEAN Hive is family and kid-friendly place, so bullying, cursing/swearing, offensive language, racism/ethnic slurs, sexual harassment and harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

The sky is the limit, especially when starting from 0HP for curation. For now, I (@JustinParke) will delegate @ASEAN.Hive 100HP to get things rolling.
Curation will take place with a priority on content posted within the ASEAN Hive Community, but is not limited to only this community. Any Southeast Asian content on Hive is fair game.
In the near future some SEO Challenges with HIVE bounties will be hosted within the community.

Perhaps, funny you say that, I used to live in Tirana, Albania, once upon a time. I think it's best to cast a wide net for underserved parts of the world. A Balkans Hive Community is a good idea.

Thanks @pinmapple. I was just tinkering with your site, and think some of the search tools there can help me locate SE Asian posts, at least ones who've copied and pasted the pinmapple location code.
Is there a way to pin someone else's post with pinmapple? I'm not sure I understood the statement. If so, I would like to know how to pin other's posts. I wasn't aware of this feature.

Thank you so much @victoria-bella, I hope we can increase Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar content on the Hive. There are already pretty healthy Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand-based communities on the Hive, but it's nice to have a shared space where all these folks can come together and share English content.
