Last day, we experienced tropical depression here in our Country particularly here in the Province. But it was not expected to bring heavy rains. It was Almost afternoon when the heavy rain started and we already felt worried about it becuase it will be expected to have great flood but before it happens, We first doing our tasks and obligations at the Church. The most part I worried off is my Garden near at the river, it will expectedly reach by flash floods and the results will be catastrophic. First I prepared the things I will brought in times of evacuations and checking the weather conditions and the typhoon tracks and as I checking it, the typhoon track will passing Mindanao areas.

The heavy rain was started at exactly 3 in the afternoon and it takes lots of hours, the lawn was started to flooded and the main street was filled with lots of water. I always thinking of my Garden near at the river and as for that I decided to visit the place soon as the bad weather will vanish. Crossing the river after the typhoon is one of the difficult activity because of the strong current and deepness.

It takes a few days when I begun traveling and visiting my Garden near at the river and as I reached the place, I was very shocked.

I felt very sad watching my Vegetables and Young coconut plants, some of it are washed away and some are already covered with mud and trash. The entire place was also covered with mud and a big portion of the place was been collapsing due to strong flash floods. This was the biggest flash floods happens here and it really brings a bad result for my Garden. I am not expecting that this place will reached by flashfloods because it is found at the top of the cliff.

My Camote vines are also faded by strong current of water and it is useless to harvest those young vines. Some of it was completely washed away and the roots was also removed. I already harvested my camote vines many times and some of it are already sold out at the Market but now, it completely destroyed. Lots of bamboo branches are stocked at the garden and as for that I carefully removed and thrown away those small bamboo branches and other trash brought by the flood.

As I also checked the river, the water channel is already near at the garden and it keeps approaching because of the continuing collapsing of the cliff. Well for me, this is normal because this place here was once a river but it filled lots of sandy soil for many years already, and the water track will back to the older track again. Some of our Banana plants was already washed away and some of it are nearly eroded. I can imagined how strong the water current was because of the faded grasses and my Camote vines.

My Lemon Grass was also faded and some of it are washed away. I tried to recovered some of it and carefully cultivated again. This lemon grass I have here was already hit by floods many times already and it keeps surviving.

My Cassava Crops are also destroyed by flashfloods and the most saddest part is some of the crops are completely washed out. There are also some cassava crops are not been washed out but it already shows up seeing this small crops that are not yet ready to harvest. I carefully buried with soil, cassava plants will survive as long as it wont removed its roots from the ground. It can still survived even if it is already leaning to the ground. This is the biggest challenge as a gardener but I kept myself pursuing to make a garden and this time my plan is to make garden somewhere safe from the flood. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.

I'm sad of what happen to you garden, I hope the plants can still recover. I know that the sweet potatoes are strong and can grown even in that situations. Gardening is not easy, we exert effort, time and patience in every plants.

That is true Ma'am, I keep recovering my Garden but I planned also to make a garden somewhere safe from the flood. It will start over again but it is the best way so I wont have any problems when there is is a big flood. ☺
