Army Museum N9 part 2

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY10 hours ago

In the infancy of TUDM Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia RAFM Royal Air Force Malaysia, we spent many billions in acquiring foreign technologies and weapon. We used to have a series of A4, F5e, many different type of helicopters.

The Sirkosky S-61, very well known for its rounded dome shaped "beak", somewhat resemble a parrot 🦜 🤣 I swear to God I wanted to give that beak a gentle petting at least once in a life time.

We ordered 10 S61 as a multirole air-craft in 1967 and named them "Nuri" 🤣 the translation is indeed Parrot. Funny ey. Despite the serious look of the camouflage, the picture of an army parrot just doesn't go away. These beautiful girls serve us well until 2019 and the fleet was officially retired in 2020 after multiple crashes due to unavailable of parts.

Back to the famous Douglas A-4 Skyhawk. Damn this thing is what I drew when I was a kid. The nostalgic of me sitting there Infront of the newspaper admiring such jet fighter.

There's so many questions about the Skyhawk has been with me for decades, I think I have more questions that I can remember to ask at this point of time, like there's 1 intake duct from each side of the plane, does it have 2 engines? If 2 engines, why 1 exhaust outlet? 🤣 Oh do take note on the dome shaped ventilator on the floor. Later we will come back to this again.

what about the 2 torpedo shaped thing under the bottom of both wings? Well, I didn't know it was the gas tank when I was young. When I drew these planes, I usually add as many of these under the plane in my drawings 🤣 now I know it's the gas tank.

Now that I know this is the actual engine of the jet. Such as amazing development, with such a small engine to power up the entire fighter jet. Compare this to a small car combustion engine, this is way more capable.

Is this the engine code? I need to document this and do further research later to satisfy my own curiosity.

More codes and serial numbers on the engine. Is there any website we can access to check on these general electric engines?

The rear view of the engine is epic. Imagine when it was alive, the amount of thrust it's generating, the heat it's radiating through the fan.

The rear view of the sexy Skyhawk still looks sleek and deadly, especially the huge stabilizers, I used to call it sharks fin 🤣 I know these war plane has been demilitarized before they're fit for display, can they showcase some missiles and guns?

Too close, I'm switching to guns.

Ice! Get the hell out of there if you're not firing!

Shit! I'm out!

Beep beep beep... The sound of the critical alarm in the F14 blarring through my head, Maverick is losing control as he flew into Iceman's jet wash.

Ok I don't think an A4 with single engine can get itself into a flat spin. There's more to talk about how an early F14 can easily stall and get itself into a flat spin, but we will keep that part to later dates. Who knows if I get a chance to visit the Fort Worth Aviation museum.

I've been blessed by the 80s military helicopters TV shows such as Blue Thunder and Air Wolf those kind of fictional attack helicopters 🚁

The shape of these war relic doesn't really match the fictional war machines, so they never really caught my attention. The only thing I notice is, my country p---

Thanks to the selfish ass that break the window, I can at least put my phone camera into the cockpit and take a closer look inside.

After the long viewing time at the helicopters and fighter jet, we need to find a shade to take some rest.

This part of the museum displaying many different types of tanks. I'm not a tank guy, so I don't really pay attention to the model and their role. However, what I can tell is their registration plate always starts with Z. I particularly take the photo of this is because 1314 in Cantonese brings the meaning of 一生一世 forever and ever 🫶
