When life gives you a lemon, you can always make a lemonade. Many years ago, I already received a lemon, perhaps I have been carried away putting too much salt and sugar into my lemonade, so now I'm getting even more lemon to my body.
A couple of months ago, I had an accident. I was doing my pull ups, the rain come and I was still pretending to be hero, doing my pull ups at the rain. Due to the slippery bar, my right hand lose grip and slipped, and I refused to let go, and I have injured my left shoulder instead.
I've been spending months on physio therapy which cost me a ton, to help repair and improve my situation. Last month was the last session of the therapy and it is about time for me to take this on my own. I won't be able to pay for the therapy anymore, but a cheap elastic band would do the work. I won't expect to be back to my old self, setting a rewind back to April. Over the past 6 months, my strength had been seriously deteriorated due to lack of strength training.
Now, with the added blood pressure issue, I won't even bet on pushing too hard or else I could have risk a heart attack, stroke or anything worse. Last Friday I needed to skip a healthy lunch, as I am required to meet an old client.
Conversation with the client wasn't much fruitful as we didn't come to mutual business term. We do have some fun chatting about some of the older case we face together years ago.
Later in the evening, after fetching junior from school, we need to go for grocery shopping. Since we didn't prepare dinner, off we went to Poke Village for a poke bowl. Not exactly sure since when Poke Bowl become a thing. A bowl of salad and brown rice will easily cost me RM18 (that's like $4). I'm sure I can make it cheaper if I do it at home, but since we're eating out, I guess poke bowl is a slightly healthier choice then.
At this point of time, my health is pointing downwards. I know I have some fun in the earlier stage of my life, but I wasn't expect to suffer consequences so damn fast, at least not until I'm 50? Nevertheless, I have already make up my mind, to struggle it through. Even if I can't, I'm gonna fake it until make it. At least I will TRY to lose some weight, and keep trying even if I am not successful.
Weekend was busy because both kids has their school event. I think I'm considered lucky as both kids are schooling nearby our house, both of them are within the 5km radius from our house. The youngest is having a sports day in his school, the older ones is having a run day at school. Since I'm going to do my morning walk around her school, I dropped her at the gate and proceed with my usual weekend walk routine.
Nope, I didn't purposely stalk my own kid. Funny, even when I walk pass a bunch of school kids, she didn't notice me, but I can tell that's her! Sometimes I wish they never grow up, forever the toddler that demanding hugs and carrying 😂 so much less trouble than a teenage kid.
After the morning walk, I went to pack a Subway sandwich for breakfast. Not the most ideal food, but what is less than RM10 and it's not fried stuff is considered good stuff. I took the egg and cheese route, ordered an extra poach egg to go with the veges.
Before I even have a chance to sit down properly and play games, it's time to fetch the kids from their event. So I took the home minister, and went to fetch them. After which, it's lunch hour and we headed to Amigos, ok don't get conned by the name. That's absolutely not single one of them are from Mexico 😂 even the Engrish on the wall art looks like first generation AI from the 60s ǐßm computer.
Big kid ordered a bowl of pasta, carbonara seems like the first choice running in the family line. I used to eat that a lot when I was a little younger. We know this is NOT the real white sauce the Italian made, but it's ok because we don't mind milk and cream.
The younger boy is a Humpty Dumpty clumsy ball, he had a great fall broke his elbow, knee and even had his toe cut by his own toe nail 🤦 nevertheless, he's eating well, so he ordered a huge "Hawaiian" chicken chop. In Malaysia, anything has a slice of pineapple is called Hawaiian.
Last but not least, quote Britney Spears, oops I did it again. I'm truly not sure what can I eat. I don't wanna blast my calories budget on a bowl of fried rice, pasta, neither ther Malayxico recipe has any good salad to offer, so I ordered a mixed pork and chicken chop. I get them NOT to sauce the salad, but leave me the chips so I can give it to the kids. Home minister is still full from the breakfast sandwich, so she didn't order food |except a huge cup of strong coffee.
