The Bunga Raya at Tasik Perdana

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITYlast year

One of the most accessible royal feel for an ordinary Joe like me and you can have, is probably this restaurant Bunga Raya situated at the lake club house.

Bunga Raya meaning official's flower(floral emblem), representing the country. In our case, hibiscus is our floral emblem. The restaurant adapted this name not only to named after their restaurant, it called The Bunga Raya because this land situated at the prime area of Kuala Lumpur, and it's strategically located inside the royal lake club. Rest assured, many of our high rank political parties likes to host their event here.

One of the choir member from home minister's church decided to help us book a dinner with his exclusive club membership, and we got the opportunity to enjoy the royal feel of Halal Chinese dinner at the club house. Once again, it's open to public, anyone can go in with a decent security check. The difference being, having a membership gets exclusive discount.

We were greet with a huge pot of Mapo Tofu, it's supposed to be a Sichuan spicy tofu. It's not my cup of tea tofu to be honest, but it was ok because this Malaysia version has been toned down to meet the local taste buds.

Following with another dish of fried chicken in sweet sauce. I'm ok with the fried chicken, the meat is soft and fresh, the chicken skin were properly deep fried, very crunchy. What I like most about this dish was the garnish 🤪 the fried onion ring literally put a big smile on my face.

Have you eaten groundnuts? Peanuts? In what form? Roasted? Air dried? This, is a steamed peanut, glazed with caramel peanut juice. I don't know how else can I describe this, but steam peanuts has been a long lost taste since I moved out from my dad's house. It was the appetizer before dinner, but we can't help it to continue eating it even the main course started.

As every Chinese restaurant in Malaysia does, mixing up long beans, ladyfingers, eggplants, and winged beans, stir fried with sambal shrimp paste. Gotta be extra careful with it, before you realized you love greens, you already gobble down 2 bowl of rice with it.

Not forgetting the mind blowing sour and spicy steam fish. It's not any fancy fish that make the experience better, but the freshness of the flesh returned the epic flavor. The sour and spicy sauce is yet another crazy combination for white rice. Stay away from this if you're on keto diet. No sour and spicy sauce can go without rice!

The main course ended with a huge plate of deep fried cereal coated vegeprawn. Whilst I'm not exactly a fan of fake prawn, I think my mind plays a trick keeps telling me these are fake. However, if I enjoy it as a rolled soy paste, it taste just fine 🤣 that's how fried soy paste supposed to taste like.

There's a huge plate of cut fruit served as dessert, at the same time one of the choir member birthday, so we all got a sweet treat. Apologize I was too busy eating and totally left out the cut fruit plate.

For 30 of us, the total bill came to a 1000 MYR. It may seem slot, but if you factor in the tax, the amount of people, and considering this is an exclusive club house restaurant, each of us is $7. Was a marvelous experience and we gather at the main entrance for a group photo before we beat goodbye.

Ah. That's less appetizing for me 🤣 but glad you like it. Perhaps next time when you visit here, you can have the tofu, I can have all the chicken 🤣

The dishes all look pretty well done, and I would've thought a dinner in a place like that would be more expensive. I like mapo tofu, but if the tofu isn't fresh or quality, it's very easy to know in a dish like this where it's not fried. Eating in a place like this, you might bump shoulders with some heavyweights and land the job of your dreams 😉.

Spot on. it's the location, and the targeted customers are all high ranking political if not rich fags from public listed companies.

Going to this place will not land me a dream job because the club goer usually go with family. Neither can find a sugar mommy here because their rich fag hubby will be around. Even if not around, there's enough eyes and ears around 🤣
