To Genting Winter Wonderland

Ok. Here's more than 1 month delay on the Christmas trip to Genting. We got a free room to stay, but this time we don't get a connecting room. Kids will be on their own at another room, and we're on our own.

Genting Highland still hold the Guinness world record of the world largest hotel with more than 7000 rooms in 1 single hotel management. Due to the fact that these rooms are generally for gamblers, unless request and paying extra, don't expect to have any sort of view from your room. Who knows if you're lucky enough the neighbor across forgot to close their windows, you'll be able to see some "action".

Kids are having some good time with their gadgets whilst home minister is working her way to get a decent room nearer with the kids. At very least if there's anything they want, we're at the same floor or possibly next few doors away.

Back then, China was newly uplifted their lockdown, they have not even release their travel ban, but I've heard a series of mandarin accent. Home minister said could be Taiwan, but I'm pretty darn sure they're not. Am puzzle how do these Chinese get out of China with such heavy scrutinizing travel ban.

According to the time frame, we're couple of hours since Xiao Ming Kopitiam visit, all of us are quite full still. But then, if we don't eat now, later in the evening we might feel hungry. We found a Japanese shop(which run Burmese I guess) and ordered some simple dinner.

For the first time, we came all the way to Genting, Japanese food is one of the last choice in our mind. However, this time it really opened our eyes. This shop seems to know what they're cooking!

If you don't mind sitting by the side walk, tourist passing you by every second, this is actually quite a good sushi shop, and the shop is strategically located in between the hotel and the indoor theme park. It's a perfect grab and go shop in my opinion.

We arrived at the entrance of the outdoor theme park, but it was locked. We're a little disappointed because we're supposed to go in and see "snow" for the first time in our life.

So we turn back and getting ready to go shopping and quick tour around the in door theme park(which we visited several times since 2021).

Little did we know, Genting make this free for all visitors! Therefore, the ticketing area been blocked, and we need to use the side entrance from the exit point to go in for free.

There's this giant Christmas tree at the middle of the parade, there's a light board stating Genting Winter Wonderland.

To give you a big picture, we Malaysian appreciate winter very much since the only two season we have here is raining season and dry season, both with our tropical weather that somewhat resemble a hot summer 😂

And the outdoor theme park does not operate at night, so night at the museum only take in customers during the day 🤣 you know what I mean. My advise is, do bring your rain coat.

I'm the kind of redneck that never learn. The last time(a month ago) having shower in rain and mist, and I still don't have a raincoat. Next best fashion I can bring to you is a shower cap, needless to say I became the head turner of the night.

I didn't take much picture because the phone screen always fogged up pretty easily. I will leave the video do the typing and you don't need to read my Powderful Engrish so much. To end the day with a cup of noodle and coffee mixture back in the hotel room.

My last visit to Genting and staying at First world hotel was on Jan 2020 before that damn virus causing problem. Thinking to re visit Genting again this year including the theme park.

And there is your Genting post for me to read. Obviously have missed my 'hive time' due to being busy with boat maintenance and sewing. Biggest hotel hey? That is certainly alot of rooms. It sounds like Genting caters for alot of tourism, what with a casino and theme parks.

Here, junior present you

Basically, it's recreational. They've multiple casinos, but I don't believe it's any different than the one I've visited in Macau. Themepark is awesome, strap on and do the kiddie rides that almost got me a heart attack.

If you've 2 days in Kuala Lumpur, may be can consider to spend half a day at Genting just to cool down a little. But if the sole purpose of site seeing, there is nothing to shout about.

Where I'm from we have 4 theme parks all close enough for a day trip visit. Sounds like we can skip Genting 👍

谢谢玛丽

reading your story when you are in a hotel in Genting really gives me goosebumps but I won't go there because it's a place where thuggery is gambled in the world but it's very strict

This is a multi racial country. We have Muslim friends here as well. It's not necessarily going into the casino. For the past 3 years, I haven't been involving much into the gambling except feeding in some token so I can keep my membership active. Also, the security of the casino is very strict. If they suspect you're a Muslim or underage, they have every rights to demand you show your identification or passport to prove you're non-muslim before you may enter. So, don't worry about the sinful side of the casino. The recreational park is just as fun as all my Muslim friends enjoyed 🤘
