Hello Friends,
I'm new to the ASEAN hive community so I want to briefly introduce myself, For the past three years, I've been living on a Sailing Boat, visiting countries like New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and the Philippines, and currently cruising Japan. In the coming years, I will be Sailing to Alaska, Canada, the USA, Mexico, and French Polynesia.
Sunrise and Sunset are things I see every day, so I couldn't miss the opportunity to join ASEAN Hive Community Challenge and show some Photos from the Ocean.
Turtle Bay Philippines
The Philippines is truly beautiful. When we saw this bay on our navigation chart, we knew we had to go. The reef entrance was tricky, but we made it. Around us are abandoned resorts, and a few fishermen living right by the sea. I wish we could spend more time in the Philippines; the people treated us well and Nature always surprised me. We sailed from Puerto Princesa right up to San Fernando, and we had stops in between, which I want to go into detail in future posts.
Indonesia Raja Ampat
We cruised through Indonesia for 3 months, starting in the east and then heading to the west covering over 2100nm (4500km). We really had a great time; all the people were nice to us. We only needed to get used to the 5 am prayer calls. If you look closely, you will see the tiny dot on the water; that's our sailboat.
Salvacion Island Philliphines
This photo was captured just North of Palawan Island. We spent a whole week in this spot due to water in our transmission oil. We waited for the right tide and grounded the boat on the sand to fix the issue. Fortunately, we managed to resolve it. Since this spot wasn't well-known to tourists, it was remarkably quiet and enjoyable.
East Malaysia Northen Tip
Malaysia was truly amazing. My favourite town has to be Kota Kinabalu. It's wonderfully serene all around, not overly crowded, and the locals are exceptionally kind, always offering warm greetings. The picture above captures a spot untouched by tourism, frequented only by fishermen. We discovered this gem thanks to a recommendation from a local in the previous town.
Pulau Muara Besar Bridge
Brunei truly stands out among all the countries in Southeast Asia. When we arrived, the customs and immigration officers greeted us with great politeness and open hearts. Brunei doesn't offer any cruising grounds, so we opted to rent a car and explore the immense mosques and the jungle. We had a fantastic time, and before we left, our fuel tanks were filled right to the top! 😆 The Pulau Muara Besar Bridge connects to the Oil island where they refuel ships coming into Brunei.
I really hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you want to see similar blog stories please check out my profile here, I'm always open to feedback.

I am also newbie here, welcome to you Here in the community. Best of luck to your entry as well. ☺️👍
nice to meet you
Wow, an adventurous life. Do you know @watusiwoman? She is an ASEAN Hiver from Oz, and her and hubby worked their way up to Thailand from Oz on a small sailboat. They're retired and sailing full-time, but I haven't seen her post in the community for a long time.
I don't know her personally but saw her profile as well, the sailing community is small I'm sure we will meet someday.
