Good morning everyone, especially all the members here at @aseanhive Community. This morning I want to share with you our life here in our province. Ways for us to live and how to live. Because our place is far from town, we decided to live a simple life.
To save on supplies such as vegetables and fruits, we decided to make a backyard garden. We are happy because we see the fruit of our efforts just like our okra plant, which is already bearing fruit and ready to be harvested the next day.
Shepherding animals such as goats, cows and other animals that can be earned and sold. There are also chickens and pigs that are raised here.
Everyone who lives here already knows how to herd animals, so it’s easy for them to take care of them.
Here in our province, when washing food, there is no faucet or anything that can get water immediately. We only use the mug and scoop it into the urukan or container. For cleaning the dishes.
When fetching drinking water, you have to walk a few meters just to get to the source of drinking water. It’s a bit difficult, especially when the water container is heavy, but it’s necessary because this is what I do every day. There is no problem when it comes to water cleanliness. Very clear, no mud and sand.
This is the container I use when I fetch water. This thing is a bit heavy but I'm used to it because it's what I always do every day.
Even though we are only in the province, I can say that we are rich in our needs. The place is peaceful, quiet and fresh, and everyone here works together and supports each other.
And this is our Province.
Okra is one of our favorite vegetables, but here in Suriname all the okra sold in the markets is too old, the seeds are big and hard, and it is very stringy. I don't know why they don't pick them a little earlier and smaller because they are much more delicious like this.
here in our area my friend, okra is sold when it is young. the old okras, we dry it and the seeds then plant.
