Hello!😀 I officially turned 25 years old last November 29, 2021. A week before my Birthday, I filed a vacation leave from work to celebrate my birthday in advance. I chose to celebrate it in our province in Talo-ot, Argao, Cebu. I don’t know if it’s only me, but as I get older, I just want to cherish the time that I have to be with my family.
Months before this, I already told my family and relatives about the idea of celebrating my birthday together with the November Birthday celebrants in the family. Aside from the fact that we could save a lot from it, it would be so much fun as well to celebrate our Birthdays together.
My parents woke me up so early just to sing a “Happy Birthday” song. That day was filled with love and laughter. After which, everyone gets so busy preparing for the food, and the LECHON was the highlight of this event. I enjoyed watching Kuya Jerome and his brother preparing the Lechon. My Mama also made some “hanging rice” and we assisted her in the preparation.
Uncle Brian, my cousin Mariel, and our cousin-in-law Kuya Albert are also November celebrants. We shared the total expenses for the food and drinks.
Our grandmother “Lola Amparo” was so generous because she also gave out some cash that would be used for the Lechon. Seeing our Lola really happy that we are all together means a lot to us. She even told us that just seeing us united is already a perfect gift from God. She also got emotional and told us that if only our grandfather “Apo Juaning” is still alive, he would surely be the happiest as well.
We prayed and ate together on that day. Exchanged inspiring conversations and just celebrate the gift of life that was given by God. Everything just went so smooth during the celebration. I am very grateful to God for blessing me with a supportive family. We may not be perfect, but every day we are also doing our best to be a blessing to the people around us.
Since we are living in the province, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without the videoke. That was fun when everyone started to dance and sang. Indeed nothing beats being home with your loved ones.
I am very grateful to God for everything that he has done for our family. This Birthday celebration is something that I would cherish for a lifetime.😀
