Finally, spring is here. Experiencing months of winter. It excites me more that finally we can spend more time outdoors. Seeing the colors of nature brings happiness to see different colors. It's just another normal day. I and Aya's routine is to go home from school. But then, I got a message from my husband that changed my plan.
His message was to check the bicycle. He wants a bicycle for Aya because the old one is small. He will not buy a new bicycle but it's a good one. It's second hand because the owners son did not use it much. And they will buy a new one appropriate to his son's height. And he decided we need to see it personally.
Summer is just around the corner, we're planning to go on a cycling trip together. We will enjoy the warm sun after months of cold weather.
My husband drives one hour going to the bicycle owner’s house. We decided that Aya will stay at home because we're not sure what time we will go home and need to buy something.
Our night plan and like our joyride, a small trip for a bicycle hunting. The sun is setting down and the color of the sky is beautiful. Soft hues colors like orange and blue sky. It's like a painting. It's a simple beauty around us and a simple joyride together. A mini adventure just the two of us that is something special. That night, a wonderful moment. I'm in the passenger seat and enjoy the view around me. From the beautiful views and getting the bicycle of Aya.
It's night already and we feel hungry. Before heading to the owners house, we decided to buy Kebab. I love food, any food as long as it's delicious. Kebab is one of my favorites. It's perfect for our small trip. He pulled over to a small place of kebab and he grabbed one. A spicy kebab for us. Because we love spicy foods. Since my husband was driving, I need to feed him because he needs to keep his eyes on the road. He eats first. After that it's my turn to eat.
Finally, we arrived at our destination at the owner's house. Then my husband called him and he was still at work. We need to wait for 10 minutes. It was all ok and then he showed up. The bike looks good and brand new and perfect. But it's ok for Aya and for sure she will like it. To make sure everything is good, my husband checked the tires. brakes and everything before deciding to buy it. He knows more about it so it's his decision. Aya would be so happy that she will have a bicycle for the summer. My husband decided he would buy it and securely loaded it in the car.
Before going home we decided to go to the grocery store. Buy something at home. Tomorrow is our eldest Zoe’s birthday. She will turn 17 years old. Celebrating a birthday here is not special like how Filipinos celebrate our birthdays. Here its just simple cake, lunch and dinner together as a family. Because its Friday and she will come home from school, we needed a cake, candles and a few things at home. Honestly, I dont like going to the grocery store and running errands. He feels more stress and I love going to the store and he stresses me out. Sorry my love but its true.
It's time to go home and it was late. Our day is ordinary and it turned into something special. Nothing fancy but simple things were together. Joyride, eating spicy kebab together, bicycle for Aya and Zoe's coming birthday. Our joy is so simple. It's a reminder that spending time with my love doesn't need big events. Our happiness comes into simple things and makes our hearts full.
And its just like that, small moments need to be cherished. Our love is simple, just all we want happiness within. Taking care of each other and giving special things for our kids. As the sun is resting and the sky is colored hues, the day ends with simple happiness.

Finding a second-hand bicycle that looks new is a great win. Then buying cake and candles for a simple birthday celebration is an example of how happiness prospers in simplicity. The trip to the house of the owner of the bicycle also gave you the opportunity to see the beautiful view of the sunset. I haven't tasted authentic kebab. The bicycle still looks new. I remember it was my father who bought a bicycle for me when I was a kid; he got some money from his copra profit. It was a memorable possession for me from a child's point of view. Yes, simple family moments but they are treasures to keep forever.
You have right the bicycle is like a new one. And we need to go there to check in not just in photos. But all everything is good. And the kebab so yummy. Its one of our favorites. If were hungry we just we need to go there. Coz its not expensive and along the street. My husband always said we only live ones. And we need to enjoy and spend time with our loveones. Yes, it's better to check an item in person first before buying it. Oh, kebab shop that is convenient and inexpensive. It's nice when your hubby is around coz you get to go with him on car rides. You are lucky that you have a loving and supportive husband.
