If you're reading my blog, every Monday is my day off. A day to relax, slow down and Netflix and chill. And Monday is the start of the busy week for everyone.
It's my day off but it doesn't mean that I will get my total rest. Always my days off run for errands, simple tasks and a quick “me time” to enjoy quick moments.
Before my morning starts. Last week Aya was busy, so I convinced her to join the contest. It's all about creating stories, any type of stories and a maximum of 5 pages. But Aya was hesitant and she thought it was in Slovak language.
I told her there's no Slovak. In the contest there are 3 languages students can choose from. It's either English, German and Spanish. And Aya knew there's English and she was so excited. And then told me “Mama, what if I don't win? I said, it's all ok, if you win its just a bonus and I want you to have an experience in any contest. That's all important to me. 💞
Then I asked her “What story will you create?????”
She has choices like her life or her cats. I said, Nah, it's too common. Think about something unique and I know you have an idea. Just think about Aya. Then she came up with an idea and she did not stop talking about it. It's a fantasy story and I said “Ok, you have a story now and start to write your own story. On weekends she continue the story and then I forgot we don't have ink for the printer. And that's my errand. I need to work on my day off.
Yesterday morning. I woke up early and I will go to my husband’s office. The air was cool and moon was showed up in the sky. While she's eating her breakfast. I told her I will go to Tátos office and then go to your school to give a copy of your story. It's Aya’s elimination round for the storytelling contest at school and whoever wins will proceed to the National level. And will represent their school for Nationals.
Aya was so excited and nervous too. She wants us to be proud of her and win. It doesn't matter if she wins or not, seeing her creativity bloom and her confidence grow is worth every effort.

It's time to go to my husband’s office then he prints it and Aya’s story has 9 pages. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I had to wait for 2 hours for the next bus.
When the bus came, I was excited to give her a copy of her story. My little mission was done. I had some time and the rain started to pour softly. So I decided to have my “me time” in the coffee shop. I went to MUB Originals, it was one of the cozy places with big windows. It was a perfect spot in the window seat, offering the view of the street for customers to watch the passerby.
I treated myself to my favorite slice of chocolate cake and foamy cappuccino. Finding a spot by the window and I watched as the gentle rain tapped softly against the glass. I stay there for an hours and I started to my blog while waiting for Aya’s lunch time.
When I received a call from Aya, that was the time I headed to her school. And Thank God, the rain stopped already. She was waiting for me outside the school and I told her good luck and God Bless. No matter what will happen we were so proud of her already.
Aya went back inside and after the elimination round she will go to her singing class. I didn't wait for Aya because her school clubs hadn't finished yet.
I enjoyed the beautiful weather as I headed to the bus station. The sight was absolutely stunning because of the leaves were changing color and beginning to fall.
The rest of the afternoon was calm and at home I continued to watch the series on Netflix-MindHunter.
That’s what my Monday day off looked like, a simple mom duties needs to accomplish some errands. This is a part of my life. It's not always planned and there's unplanned things that I need to fix. It's like a challenge for me and after those errands. My simple coffee time is kind of small, just that fills my heart.
Life doesn’t have to always be grand , busy or planned.
Sometimes unexpected things happen and we need to embrace it. It has purpose, love and care in everything I do. My life doesn't stop here as a mom. Even simple errands and I will continue to do my responsibilities for my family .
That's how we are, mothers, instead of relaxing, we can't forget about our children. We need to check on them regularly. Also goodluck for Aya.
