Crispy Fried Bread with minced pork and Tofu Filling 🍞🥙

  • Hello on a Sunday evening. It's another cold day, and as always for me, it's time to prepare snacks for my kids with new menus for them to try. Today, I made a fried dish for them to eat hot. The main ingredients are whole wheat bread, minced pork and soybean tofu, which are staples I always have in my kitchen.

  • I used them to make crispy fried bread with a minced pork and tofu filling, lightly seasoned to be eaten with a slightly sweet, salty, and tangy sauce that pairs well with fried food, helping to cut through the richness. It's not difficult to make and is worth preparing at home.



🍞 Ingredients for Shrimp and Tofu Filling Bread

  • 4 slices whole wheat bread

  • 200 grams minced pork

  • 100 grams soybean tofu

  • 1 tablespoon chopped spring onion

  • 1 tablespoon Finely chopped garlic

  • 1 teaspoon Paprika powder

  • 1 egg

  • 2 teaspoons seasoning powder

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • A little salt

  • 1 tablespoon chopped spring onion for garnish

  • 1 tablespoon toasted white sesame seeds for garnish

  • Vegetable oil for frying

🥣 Ingredients for the Sauce

  • 5 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil


🫕 Instructions

  • I'll start by preparing the filling. Put the minced pork and tofu into a mixing bowl. Add the chopped spring onion, finely chopped garlic, paprika powder, egg , seasoning powder, sesame oil, and a little salt.

  • Use a spoon to mash the tofu into small pieces and mix everything together until well combined. I let this marinate for about 10 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, I'll prepare the dipping sauce. In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, chili sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Stir until well combined, then transfer to a piping bag and set aside.

  • Once the time is up, take the marinated filling and spoon it onto a slice of bread, spreading it evenly over the entire surface.

  • Take another slice of bread and place it on top, sandwiching the filling. Use a knife to scrape off any excess filling around the edges of the bread.

  • Place a pan on the stove, add oil, and turn the heat to medium. When the oil is hot, add the bread and fry until crispy and golden brown on both sides.

  • Drain on a wire rack to remove excess oil, then cut each sandwich in half.


🥙 Serving

  • Arrange the fried shrimp and tofu bread on a plate.Drizzle the sauce over it.
    Sprinkle with the toasted white sesame seeds and top with the chopped spring onion.It's ready to serve.

  • The texture is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with the aromatic scent of spices and sesame. The mild, savory flavor from the filling is complemented by the sweet, sour, salty, and creamy sauce that has it all.
