Hi there from Suriname. Yesterday in my area is no electricity from 3:00pm until 1:00am. I don't know if no electricity in all of Suriname or just my area. We did not have water for cooking or showering.
Power Outage, No Problem
ย ย ย It was difficult to sleep because the weather was very hot, but we enjoyed time together on the porch. We played games together, then my little girl told stories to us, and she read from books too. The mosquitoes bit us a lot.
ย ย ย Then I made my two daughters go to their room and they said, "It's very hot, difficult to sleep." I said to them, "Yes, I know but you two need try to sleep, maybe tonight the electricity will not return." After they fell asleep I still can't sleep.
ย ย ย When we played the game my little girl said she is glad to have no electricity because she can play so much games with my family. We talked a lot about this,and that. My two daughters love to ask us a lot about our old stories from the past.
ย ย ย Theyโre always wondering about everything. Next my little girl wanted to read some books. She always loves to read books. She can read easy English words but she is difficult to write for English words.
ย ย ย While she was reading books we don't know if there were insects or animals because it was so dark. We just hear sounds from everywhere, theyโre making sounds very strong. Everywhere is dark and there was so much water because that day was full of rain.
ย ย ย That day looks like a scary night but our daughters are happy to read books. Looks like they are feeling warmth from the family, sitting close and listening to her read.
ย ย ย Some words she can't read, so she asked her sister and her dad. I feel very good for that time. We stopped to do everything online like we are living in the past, no internet, no phone, no electricity, living by nature, but so hard to sleep hahaha.

It really looks like a cozy night. Sometimes power outages can be good for trying to get by naturally. Like you said it's living in nature. Here in Canada during the winter we would have a problem if it was too long we could freeze. Take care. Love from Montreal.โค๏ธ

Actually, some of my fondest childhood memories are when there was no electricity coz the family does not have anything else to do but sit together and talk with each other. It's a great bonding time, I'd say... but not the hot, humid weather. Hehe
