Recently we got the chance to spend some time outside to do some great sledding!
Sledding Fun
Our son has certainly been enjoying the better access we've had to the outdoors now that the temperatures aren't in the insane single digits that we've been having a lot of lately. This means that we got to enjoy the snow that's fallen finally!
It was great to watch him go nuts running up and down the hill, sledding all over the place. It's a special thing to hear a kid having the pure joyous laughter for a while!
One of the things I wanted to show him is that you can have fun sledding but not use a traditional sled! The snow here was a lot tougher and icier but that's nothing a helmet can't help with. When I showed him that just sitting on a simple shovel can give you a lot of fun, he was all for it and went nuts! It kept him busy for sure while I was shoveling out the car, so it was a win-win situation for sure.
Although we've had one hell of a bitter cold winter, one thing that's for sure is that when you eventually get to have some fun outside, it makes the really cold weather more bearable. Unfortunately for my wife, her lungs can't handle that type of stuff right now so she sadly wasn't able to join us. Hopefully next year!

My grand kids love to go sledding. We also went on a weekend where there had been some rain/sleet snow mixture a day prior, they figured out they could slide down the hill on the backs of their jackets, they were loving it.
Yeah if you find the right spot the jackets work awesome! This one looks like it would be great because the hill appears long. When it's a short hill it's not the best but a long hill is great! I'm glad you got out there with them!
It's actually two hills, you get a good clip going down one it'll take you over the other one. Further over to the right there's one that goes straight down, to the left there's a smaller one. It sits on the ground of a local high school not to far from me. They love the thrill of the big hills but I have been taking them to this one because there's a fit for everyone here, the littler one isn't into the big hills yet and he has a half sister who visits every other weekend and she a bit faint hearted on the big ones also.
I am not saying anything at all. Sledding is fun. We drove an hour to find a right spot last month after a big snow storm. There was a small hill where people flocked all day. This is the one side of snow that we enjoy :)
Damn an hour? Is it that flat where you live? Lol I'm glad you were able to get to one though! Sledding is a lot of fun and definitely makes the winters bearable lol.
I hope your wife definitely get to join you next year as said..
