MONOMAD CHALLENGE : Sad bird [ENG-ESP]
Photography has some subjectivity. The author may be looking to show or transmit something. However, it usually happens that the one who observes them carefully can capture something different, depending on how he feels, his own experiences, among other things. Today I bring you such a material. All images are mine, using my Canon EOS Rebel t3i camera.
La fotografía tiene algo de subjetividad. El autor puede estar buscando mostrar o transmitir algo. Sin embargo, suele pasar que el que las observa con detenimiento puede captar algo diferente, dependiendo de cómo se sienta, sus propias experiencias, entre otras cosas. Hoy le traigo un material así. Todas las imágenes son mías, usando mi cámara Canon EOS Rebel t3i.
There is a species of swallow that often visits the yard where I live. It is one of the most difficult birds for me to photograph. It's fast, and it tends to get to places I don't often look.
Hay una especie de golondrino que visita a menudo el patio del lugar donde vivo. Es uno de los pájaros que más difícil me ha resultado fotografiar. Es rápido, y suele llegar a unos lugares que no suelo mirar a menudo.
One afternoon, while I was working on my computer, I heard him singing. I looked out, and there he was, standing on the clothesline, and I immediately reached for the camera, which had a long lens, and I was able to get a close enough shot. He was there for quite a while, just long enough to do an impromptu "photo shoot". His head movements were quick, and he seemed to notice what I was doing. He seemed to be in no hurry, and was there for a little while longer after I was done.
Una tarde, mientras trabajaba en mi computadora, lo escuché cantar. Me asomé, y ahí estaba, parado en la cuerda para tender la ropa, y enseguida busqué la cámara, que tenía el lente largo, y pude acercar bastante la toma. Estuvo allí un buen ratito, los suficiente para hacerle una "sesión de fotos" improvisada. Sus movimientos de cabeza fueron rápidos, y parecía que notó lo que yo estaba haciendo. Parecía que no tenía prisa, y estuvo allí un ratito más luego de yo haber terminado.
That afternoon I was feeling sad. I didn't feel like working, talking, listening... you know? You know, however, this little guy arrived, was able to signal his arrival (at least I like to think so), and allowed me to photograph him for the first time. My camera was set to monochrome, as that's one of the types of pictures I like to take sometimes. So seeing these black and white images reminds me of the sadness of that long afternoon, but also pleasantly reminds me of the first time I was able to photograph this peculiar bird. He probably has nothing to do with any sadness like I felt that day, and he will never know that I relate his images of that day to that emotion. It's mere subjectivity, and that's why I love photography so much.
Esa tarde yo me sentía triste. No tenía muchas ganas de trabajar, hablar, escuchar... ¿sabes? No obstante, éste pequeño llegó, pudo avisar su arribo (al menos me gusta pensar eso), y me permitió fotografiarlo por primera vez. Mi cámara estaba configurada en monocromático, ya que es una de los tipo de fotografías que me gusta realizar a veces. Así que ver éstas imágenes en blanco y negro me recuerdan la tristeza de esa larga tarde, pero también me recuerda gratamente la primera vez que pudo fotografiar a éste pájaro peculiar. Probablemente él no tenga nada que ver con alguna tristeza como la que sentía yo ése día, y nunca se enterará que yo relaciono sus imágenes de ése día con esa emoción. Es mera subjetividad, y por eso me gusta tanto la fotografía.
My last photo is the one I like the most: I captured the moment when he opened his beak to sing.
