It's past 1 am and I should probably be in bed, but the eyes of the cat are upon me. If you think about it, cats really are just furry, miniature Chuck Norrises. In such cases there's nothing to do for it but blogify. Probably a better idea than trying to gaslight chatGPT.

Speaking of AI, someone set up one to do a daily roundup of the best photography posts and ever since I discovered this I've been trying to have some fun with it. Been trying to write so's the humans understand what I'm talking about but the AI's summary of the post sounds batshit crazy.

Or maybe it's just me that sounds that way. Let's just blame the liquor store. "I swear to drunk Occifer, I'm not God! But I do know her cousin." Can you get an AI drunk? What's the digital equivalent of dopamine? Probably should have asked these questions before we started giving them machine guns and kamikaze drones.

If the news is to be believed, this planet is a dumpster fire. In an ammo dump. At least the fireworks will be nice. Don't let that get you down though, there's not much any of us can do individually. Just remember the Serenity Prayer: "Change the things you can, and lay boobytraps for the rest." _{^{That may be a paraphrase.}}

Been back from our eclipse expedition for nearly a week but it feels like my brain is still in the woods. I think the clutch is slipping. Anyone else get a vague sense of disassociation after coming back from camping in the boonies? Get back to the city and look around and be like "Wow, there are a lot of people and they're all very busy. And making the godawfulest racket and driving like maniacs." Almost enough to make you wonder why you came back to the city at all. At least until DoorDash shows up with your sushi.

This is starting to look like it's going to be longer than Desolation Row. Should probably take more photos there but the locals are a bit feisty. Can you believe someone listened to that and thought 'this needs more verses!' And then got Dylan to sign off on it.

This building wasn't designed by an architect, it was designed by a cubitect. If you look closely in the upper left you can just make out my old living room window. Got to watch them haul a dead body out of that building from there one night. Couldn't figure out why the paramedics were looking so bored and unmotivated, then they hauled out the gurney covered in a red plastic sheet.

Trees don't stare at their phones... Figured if anything would drag my brain back it's editing some old street photography. Hard to do that in the woods.

Let's go shopping they said. It'll be fun they said. Ah, the joys of childhood! At least it's not a shopping mall, are they extinct yet? That reminds me, I need to see how long I can indulge in some street photography at the mall(s) here before security asks me to leave.
