Hello Friends,
Good Evening all!
Haoyai Mithai, it was one of the most popular and interesting foods of our childhood. In fact, in front of our school, these foods used to sell more, but then they were a little smaller in size and the prices were much lower.
As everything has changed over time, so has the taste and size of favorite foods. But it still catches our eye and sometimes my son and I try to taste them together. Honestly, I can't control my greed in this matter yet.
I captured this picture last Friday evening while traveling, from the Rathkhola junction in Old Dhaka. However, these hawkers are no longer seen as they used to be, as they too are failing to survive the battle of life. This is because low-income people are the most affected by the corona virus.
Note that this Haoyai Mithai is made with a combination of special processed sugar and other ingredients and is specially packaged. At present, each of these is priced at 20 taka Bangladeshi currency.
However, we are always attracted to the things of choice, but it remains to be seen how long they will last in a competitive market. Maybe over time their prices will go up further, then for a while these traditional foods will also be lost as witnesses of history! Time will tell!
