Architecture and Art
The national art gallery is one of the most important museums in the country, inside it are kept artistic works of worldwide transcendence, many well-known names are present here through pieces that are highly valued economically and at the same time invaluable from the artistic point of view. But this is also a space that opens its doors to the general population, it is here where ordinary Venezuelans can take their art to the maximum expression, therefore, it is a space that combines social inclusion, artistic excellence and cultural diversity.

La galería de arte nacional es uno de los museos más importantes de todo el país, en su interior se resguardan obras artísticas de trascendencia mundial, muchos nombres conocidos hacen presencia acá a través de piezas altamente valoradas económicamente y el mismo tiempo invaluables desde el punto de vista artístico. Pero este es también un espacio que le abre sus puertas a la población en general, es aquí en donde el venezolano corriente puede llevar su arte a la máxima expresión, por lo tanto, es un espacio que conjuga inclusión social, excelencia artística y diversidad cultural.
Taking into account the aforementioned characteristics, we can understand that this is a space that safeguards an impressive cultural and artistic legacy. For this reason, preserving each space in optimal conditions is a high priority. It is for this reason that years ago this new and modern building was built, which covers large dimensions and has the latest construction techniques, which not only maximizes the use of space, but also provides great anti-seismic resistance and at the same time generates adequate rooms for the preservation of each piece.
Teniendo en cuenta las características antes mencionadas, podemos entender que se trata de un espacio que resguarda un legado cultural y artístico impresionante. Por esta razón, preservar cada espacio en óptimas condiciones es una gran prioridad. Es por esta razón que hace años se construyó este nuevo y moderno edificio, el cual abarca grandes dimensiones y cuenta con técnicas constructivas de última generación, lo cual no solo permite maximizar el uso del espacio, sino que también brinda gran resistencia antisísmica y al mismo tiempo genera estancias adecuadas para la preservación de cada pieza.
But this time we will not go into the impressive rooms that make up this great museum, we have gone to walk through the common areas, spaces where we can enjoy an excellent architecture. It is here where we find again a true example of the brutalist current expressed in the architecture of Caracas, since we find impeccable finishes in reinforced concrete, large walls and huge walls, which are topped by interesting metal structures that generate symmetrical patterns.
Pero en esta ocasión no nos adentraremos en las impresionantes salas que conforman este gran museo, hemos ido a caminar por las áreas comunes, espacios en donde podemos disfrutar de una excelente arquitectura. Es aquí en donde nos volvemos a encontrar con un verdadero ejemplo de la corriente brutalista expresada en la arquitectura caraqueña, puesto que nos encontramos con impecables acabados en concreto armado, grandes muros y paredes enormes, las cuales se encuentran coronadas por interesantes estructuras metálicas, que generan patrones simétricos.
Steel, concrete, wood and granite are some of the materials that we can clearly see in the facilities of this architectural complex, which despite its grandeur and robustness does not generate enclosed spaces, but on the contrary is completely open to the common areas visitors can enjoy natural light, a good dose of fresh air and very interesting architectural finishes, which taking into account its details, we can consider that this is another artistic sample.
Acero, concreto, madera y granito son algunos de los materiales que podemos ver con claridad en las instalaciones de este complejo arquitectónico, el cual a pesar de su grandeza y robustez no genera espacios encerrados, sino que al contrario se encuentra totalmente abierto para en las áreas comunes los visitantes podamos de luz natural, una buena dosis de aire puro y muy interesantes acabados arquitectónicos, los cuales teniendo en cuenta sus detalles, podemos considerar que se trata de otra muestra artística.
Through architecture, art can be built and thanks to photography, this art can be perpetuated in time and later disseminated regardless of distance. This is how we find in these elements a perfect conjunction, which results in different types of art, which are related to each other and at the same time seek to express a message, define feelings and tell stories.
A través de la arquitectura se puede construir arte y gracias a la fotografía ese arte puede ser perpetuado en el tiempo y posteriormente difundido sin importar las distancia, es así como encontramos en estos elementos una conjunción perfecta, la cual da como resultado diferentes tipos de arte, los cuales se relacionan entre sí y al mismo tiempo buscan expresar un mensaje, definir sentimientos y contar historias.
