Rondón" Street in the southern end of my town is not exactly a pretty street. On the contrary, there is some chaos there constantly, the wiring (as in almost all our streets) is extremely messy, people often leave their old, partially rickety vehicles parked on both sides of the streets and some even use the street as an auto repair shop. Obviously, there are also dogs, weathered facades and piles of debris or even garbage thrown in any space...

La Calle "Rondón" en el extremo sur de mi pueblo, no es precisamente una calle bonita. Por el contrario, hay allí cierto caos constantemente, el cableado (como en casi todas nuestras calles) es extremadamente desordenado, las personas suelen dejar sus viejos vehículos parcialmente destartalados parqueados de lado y lado de las calles y algunos inclusos usan la calle como taller de reparación automotriz Obviamente, también hay perros, fachadas desgastadas y montones de escombros o incluso basura tiradas en cualquier espacio...

Lately I have been making this kind of photographic record relatively often.... It goes like this: I get to a street through one of its corners, I get ready to follow it for a few blocks, I start taking pictures without concentrating too much, just shooting relaxedly and trying to register the changes of what I see in a not too compromising sequence... Doing it this way helps me to think, I would say “meditate”, while I take pictures in a carefree way... In fact, I do not always end up processing the photos afterwards. I just sometimes shoot for the pleasure of doing it and going around observing and thinking... I know it sounds strange, but for me it's important, that's why I try to explain...

Últimamente he estado haciendo este tipo de registro fotográficos con relativa frecuencia... La cosa sucede así: Llego a una calle a través de una de sus esquinas, me dispongo a seguirla por unas cuantas cuadras, comienzo a tomar fotos sin concentrarme demasiado, simplemente disparando relajadamente y procurando registrar los cambios de lo que veo en una secuencia no demasiado comprometida... Hacer esto así me sirve para ir pensando, yo diría que "meditando", mientras hago fotos despreocupadamente... De hecho, no siempre termino procesando las fotos posteriormente. Simplemente a veces disparar por el placer de hacerlo y de ir por allí observando y pensando... Ya sé que suena extraño, pero para mi es importante, por eso intento explicarlo...

I have a special attraction for trucks and even more so if they are old. It is because of that that huge old “International” truck parked at the edge of the street, always steals my attention when I wander along the lackluster Rondón Street, I have photographed it hundreds of times, but every time I pass by there, I end up taking a handful of pictures of it. Even its owner, when he sees me doing this, smiles and usually jokes saying things like “I'll leave it to you as an inheritance when I die”... And the fact is that its owner is an old man, but he and his truck are still working together despite the many years they both have been there...

Tengo debilidad por los camiones y más si son antiguos. Es debido a eso que ese enorme y antiguo camión marca "International" estacionado al borde de la calle, siempre roba mi atención cuando deambulo a lo largo de la deslucida Calle Rondón, lo he fotografiado cientos de veces, pero cada vez que paso por allí, termino haciéndole un puñado de fotografías. Incluso su dueño, al verme hacer esto, sonríe y suele bromear diciendo cosas como "Te lo dejaré como herencia cuando muera"... Y es que su dueño es un hombre anciano, pero él y su camión aún siguen trabajando juntos a pesar del montón de años que ambos llevan encima...

I like this kind of photo essays based on a brief tour through some streets of a specific street. Here in my town there are a few streets that I can surely use to do this and thus have a new format option to take street photos and share them with you in #Hive.... Also, this type of recording allows me to experience the way in which the subtle changes of the streetscape occur here in short periods of time.

Me gusta este tipo de ensayos fotográficos basados en un breve recorrido por algunas cuadas de una calles específica. Aquí en mi pueblo hay unas cuantas calles que seguramente me podrán servir para hacer esto y así tener una nueva opción de formato para hacer fotos callejeras y compartirlas con ustedes en #Hive... Además, este tipo de registro me permite experimentar la manera en la que ocurren los sutiles cambios del paisaje callejero aquí en lapsos de tiempo corto.
