Hello dear friends in Black and White, today I bring a selection of photos which somehow can be classified as "weird", because these images are out of the usual (at least with respect to those I usually publish).
Hola amigos de Blanco y Negro, hoy traigo una selección de fotos que de alguna manera pueden ser catalogadas de "raras", debido a que estas imágenes se escapan de lo acostumbrado (al menos respecto a las que suelo publicar).
But these are photos corresponding to some days when I go for a walk with my camera and "Everything seems to be messy, untidy and even in frank abandonment"...
Pero es que estas son fotos que corresponden a algunos días cuando salgo a caminar con mi cámara y "Todo parece estar desordenado, desprolijo y hasta en franco abandono"...

This is a town that left behind its best days, when the agricultural bonanza of the 70s, 80s and 90s occurred.... Now everything is very different, we have fewer people and much less gross domestic product.
Este es un pueblo que dejó atrás sus mejores tiempo, cuando la bonanza agrícola de los años 70, 80 y 90 ocurrió.... Ahora todo es muy distinto, tenemos menos personas y mucho menos producto interno bruto.
Obviously, the economic recession is widely reflected in the streets and even among the people of the town. However, some places have recovered and others have been maintained, so it is possible to breathe a little air of optimism... But today's photos are not of those places and moments, but of "those days when everything seems to be going wrong"...
Obviamente, la recesión económica se ve ampliamente refleja en las calles e inclusive en las personas del pueblo. Sin embargo, algunos lugares han sido recuperados y otros han sido mantenidos, entonces allí es posible respirar un poco de aire de optimismo... Pero estas fotos de hoy no son de esos lugares y momentos, sino de "esos días en lo que todo parece estar saliendo mal"...
And I'm not just referring to same "air of decadence" that can hang over some streets, but also to the fact that sometimes everything seems to be out of place, it's as if chaos is taking over the scenes and it's difficult to find one to take a nice, neat photo.
Y no me refiero solo a ese "aire de decadencia" que puede flotar en algunas calles, sino también que a veces parece que todo está descolocado, es como si el caos se estuviese apoderando de las escenas y fuese dificultoso encontrar una para hacer una foto prolija y agradable.
Well, but I don't let myself get too discouraged when everything seems to be upside down. On the contrary, I tend to sharpen my gaze and capture those scenes that transmit the drama of some everyday reality... Then I immediately think "Black and White", because there is nothing better to bring out the drama in an image than to make it monochrome.
Bien, pero yo no me dejo amilanar demasiado cuando todo parece estar patas arriba. Por el contrario, suelo aguzar la mirada y captar esas escenas que transmiten el drama de alguna realidad cotidiana... Entonces inmediatamente suelo pensar en "Blanco y Negro", pues no hay nada mejor para resaltar el drama en una imagen que hacerla monocromática.
Photography is also about knowing how to extract the image from everything around you... So if the streets are neglected, you will have to find the way to take a photo there... That's a lovely challenge even if sometimes complicated.
Y es que que la fotografía es también saber extraer la imagen de todo alrededor... Entonces sí las calles están descuidadas, habrá que encontrar el camino para hacer una foto allí... Ese es un desafío encantador aunque a veces complicado.
Perhaps this kind of reality does not produce images that enchant the eye. But they do produce images that make us reflect on and deepen our understanding of the meaning of life and how different it can be for some people and for others.
Quizás este tipo de realidad no produzca imágenes que encanten la mirada. Pero sí que producen imágenes que hacen reflexionar y profundizar en el significado de la vida y en lo distinta que puede ser para unos y para otros.
I confess that I love to go reflecting on the streets while I take photographs. For me it is a very peculiar kind of catharsis, but one thing is part of the other. Sometimes, when doing street photography, it is impossible to separate the reflection from the images.
Confieso que amo ir reflexionando por las calles mientras hago fotografía. Para mí es un tipo de catarsis muy peculiar, pero una cosa forma parte de la otra. A veces, cuando se hace fotografía callejera, es imposible separar la reflexión de las imágenes.
This is how I end this publication with these photographs that may be out of the ordinary, but which for me represent a type of image that I love to capture.
Así termino esta publicación con estas fotografías eventualmente fuera de la usanza, pero que para mi representan un tipo de imagen que amo captar.

I love these! I wouldn't call them weird at all, there's a realism to them that is lacking in so much of the 'pretty' photography. My hometown's heyday was in the 1950s and it's been on the decline ever since and although their appearances vary considerably your photos have a similar feel to them. Nice work!
