Hello dear #Hive friends!.... Welcome to this edition of my street photography series "Stolen Stories" which is, as usual, my entry to today's #monomad challenge.
Rafael (AKA: "El compíta") comes rushing down from the mountains where he was born and has lived for all of his 85 years... Rafael is a lifelong friend, I have known him since he was a child, he used to come down from the mountains with baskets full of flowers which he sold door to door in the village.
Rafael lost his left eye during his youth.... According to what his children have told me, it happened when he was involved in a quarrel in his youth, but he doesn't like to talk about it... Despite his 85 years of age, he is used to walking the five kilometres back and forth between his home and the village, descends with his empty backpack, but usually buys provisions in the village and returns with a lot of weight on his back through the extremely steep path.
I hadn't seen him for a couple of years, however he recognised me immediately and asked about the health of everyone in my family, after chatting for a while, he said goodbye and continued his descent with the same energy of a much younger person...
"Perca"... I seem to remember that my friend "Perca" is really called "Manuel", but as is often the case in small towns, everyone has always called him by his nickname and that has made us all practically forget his real name. Perca works as a mechanic in a ramshackle workshop in the garage of his house. However, because there are few vehicles left in the village, he has enough free time to stand on the street corner talking to everyone who passes by.
"Perca"...
"Antonio"... In the distance I observe Antonio on the back of his horse and bringing one of his hound dogs tied to a string by his side.... The rest of the dogs, the ones that are strays, usually bark when Antonio passes through the street, I suppose they are surprised to see one of their own kind, walking beside a horse with a man on his back.
"Antonio"...
Antonio has his land in the mountains and often comes to the village to visit his family, as his wives, children and grandchildren live here. I always see him with his dogs, he never leaves them alone in the mountains.... At the beginning of the week, Antonio goes back to the mountains to work his land, sometimes for 4 or 5 days continuously.
Humberto"... My lifelong friend, rides through the streets on his old motorbike (which he himself often assembles and disassembles at will) whose thunderous noise seems to come from something bigger and faster and not from that "strange green thing with two wheels".
"Humberto"...
Humberto has no formal education, but he "knows a lot of things (as he himself often says)" and has worked as an electrician, car and motorbike mechanic, refrigeration technician, plumber, bricklayer, gardener... He even knows how to inject people and give first aids! He even knows how to inject people and give first aid!... What an impressive thing! :)
¡He incluso sabe inyectar personas y dar primeros auxilios!... ¡Vaya cosa impresionate! :)
Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!

Gracias por pasar y apreciar @andreasalas!
