Hello #Hive friends!.... I took all these photos today.... The story is this: I was sitting in the dining room of my house having lunch with a salad, some grilled cheese and bread, also a delicious and refreshing sugar cane juice.... Then it occurred to me to go for a walk down the street to take some photos and see how the people were doing at that hour of great heat and embracing sun... But let's go with the photos and I'll keep on telling you...
¡Hola amigos de #Hive!... Todas estas fotografías las hice hoy mismo... La historia es esta: Estaba sentado en el comedor de mi casa almorzando una ensalada, algo de queso asado y pan, también un delicioso y refrescante jugo de caña de azúcar... Entonces se me ocurrió salir a caminar por la calle a hacer fotos y a ver como estaba al pueblo a esa hora de gran calor y sol abrazador... Pero vayamos con las fotos y les seguiré contando...
"The crazy guy with the camera"... This is me reflected in a glass door a few streets away from my house!.... Today, when my wife saw me take my camera and put on my hiking hat, she told me: No wonder they call you "The crazy guy with the camera"... The heat and the sun will kill you, you'd better take your mobile phone with you so someone will call me when throw you in the door of the hospital!...😂 What a dark mood my wife's in! 😂...
"El tipo loco con la cámara"... ¡Este soy yo reflejado en una puerta con cristales a pocas calles de mi casa!... Hoy, cuando mi esposa me vio tomar mi cámara y ponerme mi sobrero de excursionista, me dijo: Con toda razón te dicen "EL tipo loco con la cámara"... ¡El calor y el sol te matarán, mejor lleva tu móvil para que alguien me llame cuando te lancen en la puerta del hospital !... 😂 ¡Vaya un humor obscuro el de mi esposa! 😂...
"Street and contrast"... Taking street photographs in these conditions is quite a challenge when exposing... There wasn't even a cloud in the sky and the sun was at its zenith!... So the highlights are extremely high and the shadows dramatically dark... I have several UV filters for my lenses, but I hate them as much as I hate my flash!... So it seems that they will always be put away!... So, what I do is to expose in full frame mode, always shoot in RAW and pray for I can make all the necessary adjustments when editing, without messing up the photo!....
"Calle y contraste"... Hacer fotografías de calle en estas condiciones es todo un desafío al momento de exponer... ¡No había siquiera una nube en el cielo y el sol estaba en el cenit!... Entonces las luces son extremadamente altas y las sombras dramáticamente obscuras... Tengo varios filtros ultravioleta para mis lentes, pero ¡los odio tanto como a mi flash!... ¡Así que parece que siempre estarán guardados !... Entonces, lo que hago es exponer en modo de fotograma completo, disparar siempre en RAW y ¡rezar para poder hacer todos los ajustes necesarios al momento de editar, sin que la foto se estropee!...
But, no doubt about it, going out to take pictures in the streets under these conditions is visually pleasing (apart from the fact that you might be melting inside your clothes due to the intense heat)... The streets even look like something else in this light!... There are also usually few people on the street.
Pero, no hay dudas, salir ha hacer fotos en las calles bajo estas condiciones es algo visualmente placentero (obviando que puedes estar derritiéndote dentro de tu ropa debido al intenso calor)... ¡Las calles incluso parecen ser otras con esta luz!... También suele haber pocas personas en la calle.
"Gabriel"... From his shady shop where he sells food and supplies, Gabriel smiles at the sight of me.... It gives him great pleasure to see me walking through the streets under the intense sun!... After taking this photo of him, he shouted at me: "Now I'm convinced that you've gone hopelessly mad!.
"Gabriel"... Desde su sombreada local en donde vende víveres e insumos, Gabriel sonríe al verme... ¡Le causa mucha gracias verme andar por las calles bajo el intenso sol!... Después de hacerle esta foto, me ha gritado: ¡Ahora sí estoy convencido de que enloqueciste irremediablemente!.
"Friends"... This photo made my day, it's a little boy looking down the street while his dog is outside... The setting in the humble dwelling was the ideal complement to this image.... After all, it was a good idea to go out to take pictures in this inclement sun!...
"Amigos"... Esta foto me hizo el día, se trata de un pequeño niño observando hacia la calle mientras su perro está afuera... El entorno en la humilde vivienda fue el complemento ideal para esta imagen... ¡Después de todo, fue una buena idea salir a hacer fotos bajo este inclemente sol!...
"Cropped in 16:9"... One of the other things I decided along with going out to take pictures today at noon, was to crop everything in 16:9 ratio.... And I have no idea why!.... But once I started editing the photos, I decided to stick to that "whim"...
"Recorte en 16:9"... Otras de las cosas que decidí junto con salir a hacer fotos hoy al mediodía, fue recortar todo en ratio 16:9... ¡Y no tengo idea de porqué!... Pero una vez comencé a editar las fotos, decidí mantenerme fiel a ese "antojo"...
Well, 16:9 seems to be well suited to street photos, especially those taken with a 55 mm focal length (I used my 55-300 mm zoom lens for these photos)... But with other types of photos, it's usually a bit more complex to use... (You will see it later in this post).
Bien, el 16:9 parece adaptarse correctamente a las fotos de calles, en especial a estas realizadas con focal 55 mm (Para estas fotos usé mi lente zoom 55-300 mm)... Pero con las fotos de otro tipo, suele ser un poco más complejo de usar... (Ya lo verán mas adelante en este post).
"Sparrowhawk"... That's this person's nickname, I remember a couple of decades ago he was a known thief who used to break into houses and steal some things, he even went to prison a couple of times because of that... Over time, addictions and life on the streets seem to have made him lose his mind and now he lives on the charity of the people in the village... A sad story, but that's also part of the streets.
"Gavilán"... Ese es el mote de esta persona, recuerdo que hace un par de décadas atrás era un conocido ladrón que solía entrar a las casas y hurtar algunas cosas, incluso estuvo en prisión un par de veces debido a eso... Con el tiempo, las adicciones y la vida en las calles parecen haberle hecho perder la razón y ahora vive de la caridad de las personas en el pueblo... Una historia triste, pero eso también es parte de las calles.
"New friend"... I found this little dog today, I don't think I've ever seen him on the streets before.... He doesn't seem to be strictly a stray dog as he looks quite clean and well cared for.... It's possible he has a home and just went out to roam for a while.... He's actually very docile and seems to like having his picture taken (here's why it's sometimes difficult to use 16:9 cropping)...
"Nuevo amigo"... Encontré a este perrito, creo que nunca le había visto antes por las calles... No parece ser estrictamente un perro callejero pues luce bastante limpio y bien cuidado... Es posible que tenga una casa y solo salió a deambular un rato... Lo cierto es que es muy dócil y parece gustarle que le hagan fotos (he aquí porqué a veces es difícil usar recorte en 16:9)...
"A little nap"... I walked around this boy, I took pictures, I made noises, other people walked past him, a couple of cars and motorbikes drove down that street.... And at no time has he moved or lifted his face!... The only explanation is that he was asleep!... What a remarkable ability to sleep!...
"Una siestecita"... Caminé alrededor de este chico, hice fotografias, hice ruidos, otras personas pasaron junto a él, im par de autos y motocicletas recorrieron esa calle... ¡Y en ningún momento se ha movido ni alzado su rostro!...¡La única explicación es que estaba dormido!... ¡Vaya una capacidad notable para dormir!...

La verdad que se puede sentir lo intenso del sol. Y lo digo también por experiencia propia, ese resplandor en tus fotos me es muy familiar.
Aquí al jugo de caña le decimos "guarapo" se toma bien frío, con hielo, y es muy refrescante y delicioso.

Sí señor @jordy0827... El "catire" está que mata gente aquí en estas fechas... ¡Y casi que no se ven nubes en el cielo!... :)) Hoy vi en un post de @denisda que allá dicen "EL Indio está duro" cuando el sol está así... :)) ... Aquí también le decimos "Guarapo" al jugo de caña... :)

Jajajaja. Si nosotros los cubanos y sus dicharachos. Más bien son lenguajes que se van heredando de las generaciones anteriores, y otros los inventan en el aire. Un saludito desde cuba @jlinaresp. Veo un pequeño filtro nuevo en tus fotos, me gustan más así que puro blanco y negro.
Buen ojo... (Claro, tu pintas, no podía de ser de otra manera)... A veces (como en este caso) uso un 1% de amarillo como una capa de atenuación de contraste (es bueno para cuando "El Indio" está así)... Eso eleva un poco el brillo de las sombras y adicional da ese aire leve de "Blanco y Negro Vintage"... Saludos... Gracias de nuevo...
