I slowly return to the streets, or rather, I never leave them completely... I use this even when I go to the country roads to take photos, to maintain my connection with the streets of the village. This being almost always in the early hours of the morning, the village is still there, as I like to say "just happening"...
Regreso lentamente a las calles, o mejor dichoi, nunca me voy del todo de ellas... Me sirve para esto incluso el trayecto cuando voy hacia los caminos rurales a hacer fotos, para mantener mi conexión con las calles del pueblo. Siendo esto casi siempre en horas tempranas, el pueblo sigue allí como me gusta decir "simplemente sucediendo"...

The comings and goings through these streets serve me well. A handful of metres is enough to reveal front my eyes many charming, complex and even dramatic scenes... Is difficult to miss what is going on in the streets. Sometimes I think things like "Ah, I've taken a similar picture before" but immediately something whispers in my ear: "Time doesn't happen twice" and that's when I take the shot. It's hard for a fanciful, wandering mind like mine not to hear voices emerging from nowhere... But I can't help but enjoy this even if it seems surreal sometimes...
Me sirven las idas y los regresos por estas calles. Un puñado de metros es suficiente para revelar ante mis ojos muchas escenas encantadoras, complejas e incluso dramáticas... Es difícil dejar pasar de largo lo que sucede en la calles. A veces pienso cosas como "Ah, ya hice una foto parecida antes" pero de inmediato algo me susurra al oído: "El tiempo no ocurre dos veces" y es entonces cuando hago el disparo. Es difícil para una mente fantasiosa y divagante como la mía, no escuchar voces emergiendo de la nada... Pero no puedo evitar disfrutar esto aunque parezca surrealista algunas veces...

These are complicated days, I am getting old in a country where old people are usually alone... Children and grandchildren have left, even nephews and brothers fled years ago in search of a better future. I am still here, reluctant, hardened, as always. I am perhaps the last bastion of attachment to these streets that are rotting a little more each day... The houses are left alone, they used to be sold, but now there's not even anyone to buy them... Nobody wants to live in a town that is sinking in a whirlpool of the past...
Estos son días complicados, me estoy haciendo viejo en un país donde los viejos usualmente están solos... Se han ido hijos y nietos, incluso sobrinos y hermanos huyeron hace años en busca de un mejor porvenir. Yo sigo aquí, renuente, empedernido, como siempre. Soy quizás el ultimo bastión de apego a estas calles que se pudren cada día un poco más... Las casas se quedan solas, antes eran vendidas, pero ahora no hay siquiera quien las compre... Nadie quiere vivir en un pueblo que se hunde en un remolino de pasado...

There are plenty of reasons to want to leave here. But there are also a few very solid reasons to stay... Where else can I do this...? I mean to be born, to grow up, to think its streets, to write them down and finally to leave in an unprecedented and inexplicable silence... Lines, lines, written lines... They come and go, I place them here between images that pretend to say the same thing they say...
Hay un montón de razones para querer irse de aquí. Pero también unas pocas muy sólidas para quedarse... ¿En cual otro lugar puedo hacer esto?... Me refiero a nacer, crecer, pensar sus calles, escribirlas y finalmente marcharme en un silencio inédito e inexplicable... Lineas, lineas, lineas escritas... Van y vienen, las coloco aquí entre imágenes que pretenden decir lo mismo que ellas dicen...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
