I remembered that I took many photos when I visited a very famous necropolis a few years ago during my trip to Argentina and this is what I bring to share in this post.
Recordé que hice muchas fotos cuando visité una necrópolis muy célebre hace unos años en mi viaje por Argentina y es lo que traigo para compartir en esta publicación.
These images are from the Recoleta Cemetery, in the city of Buenos Aires, a place for eternal rest inaugurated in 1822 where the tombs of many important people of that nation are located.

As in many other parts of the world where they can be visited, this cemetery is part of the tourist route that can be done in the city thanks to the beauty of the artistic works it houses and the stories of those who rest there.

It's impressive to see so many luxury tombs and mausoleums, and when I read a little about the history of the cemetery I learned that the wealthiest families of the city inaugurated it and buried their dead here, it seemed that each one wanted their monument to be grander than that of their neighbor.

When you look up or turn to any side you have a lot of things with artistic and architectural value to observe, from statues, doors, windows, vaults, tombstones, inscriptions... no wonder since 1946 this cemetery was also declared a National Historical Museum.

Something that made me happy in this sometimes gruesome atmosphere was to meet a gang of cats that lived in the cemetery. We would pass by them and they would simply ignore us, as if we were all dead...

Los cementerios son lugares interesantes aunque este más bien parece una mezcla de bazar con casco histórico - turístico jejeje. Creo que los que están muertos son esos gatos 😸😸😸👻
Jajajaja sí, un casco histórico parece, y la verdad es que había mucha gente aunque no lo capté en las fotos. Qué va, los gatos estaban bien vivos, fastidiados quizás por el movimiento de personas a su alrededor, prefieren a los muertos 😱👻😹, ¡gracias por pasar!
