I didn't know how beneficial this thing can be until I've tried it on my own. Yeah, I'm talking about putting our thoughts together before bed.
Now, I have to ask you a few questions. Do you go to bed without knitting your yarn of thoughts? Or do you put your thoughts together before bed in your mind? Or you write it down? I don't know your answers. But stay with me, I'm gonna show you what helped me most.
Well, what I'm gonna talk about will sound a little impractical and lame, maybe. Because I will ask you to write your thoughts down before bed. You never know when your mind will betray you, no matter how intelligent a person you are, you may forget something occasionally. So why talking the chance to forget what you need to remember or why struggling to remember, right? Rather keep a note.
The note can be in your smartphone, verbal or written. Or you can use a pen and paper if you have a good connection with the offline system. It's not important what you use but focus on the writing thing.
Write down what you have done throughout the day, what you thought you would do but couldn't, why you couldn't do that, what was your barriers, what's your next plan for that and for the next day. This writing doesn't mandatorily need to be broad. You can use the bullet points as I do. Sometimes a single name is enough to remind us what we meant to write.
You may argue that my brain is super fast and I don't need such assistance. Well, your brain may. I have no question about that. But this process is a way to be clear to thyself, to be accountable and answerable to thyself. Also, it reflects our though better. It's like seeing our thought process in the mirror. And I would say, it helped me to gather my thoughts which I was not sure. I find many solutions and better ways to take care of anything through this process. Only keeping in mind didn't help me this way. That's why I'm talking about writing it down.
It doesn't require much time and effort, just some intentional efforts and I can assure you, you will be surprised in a week by seeing the benefits.
