It's been about a week since our last #bible911 post, and we're actually starting to wind this series down.
We have 2 more verses / chapters to go over after today's post. Which means, I'll be on the hunt for a new graphic to follow as we continue these bible study series. God willing :)
Oh boy....Here's a topic....Struggling with loss is what we're looking at and specifically Luke 15. Which is one of my favorite chapters in the book of Luke...

If you are familiar with chapter you'll know this focuses on three parables. The first is the lost sheep, the second is the lost coin and the third is the prodigal son. Which arguably can be three of the more well known parables that Christ taught. And they are all packed into this chapter.
Yes, they have to do with loss. The lost sheep (which we are), the coin that the widow lost and of course....The prodigal son.
Which is the parable I wanted to focus on in this post....
The story is extremely relatable because there are times in my life, I felt like that son. I'm not saying I came from wealth and blew it all in a foreign country. But the realization that the prodigal son had that he couldn't 'so it all himself' and that he needed his father. Which resonates with me so much....
And the father in the parable RAN to his son. He didn't walk, he didn't curse his son out for blowing all his wealth, he was joyful that his son returned.
And if you know what this parable represents is....God's joy when we repent, humble ourselves and come back to Him.

This is the rejoicing that God and heaven has when we turn from the world and commit our lives to Him. Which is so powerful because not everyone has parents in this world that have done right by them. In fact some have awful family lives that only God knows. But this shows us that our heavenly Father WANTS us back with Him. And not for a week or two...We're talking forever! Eternity with Him.
That's comfort for me because are all sinners. And we are all lost. Thankfully we aren't told to seek a worldly answer to become 'found'. We put our trust in Him and have confidence that the Good Shepard will always be there. No matter what we have done. No matter how much was have failed or sinned. He is always seeking us with open arms.
Does this give you comfort?

It is a nice reminder that even when we feel completely lost, we can always find our way back home.
Absolutely. Like I was saying, it's such a comfort!
It is the ability and self will to retract, retrace and return back to the Father, that matters most. The Father is ever ready to take us back.Thank you Jongo, two more #bible911 to go.
