I was doing my evening devotional tonight, and something I read really hit me...
I'm not going to copy and paste what it read (yet). Instead I'm going to say it in my own words. Or at least what I go from it...
The devotional was about living a healthy lifestyle as a way to communicate easier with God. He laid out plenty of nuggets sprinkled in Scripture about how to live a pure and healthy lifestyle, but I think this verse sums it up perfectly:

Being healthy is something God wants for all of us, and sadly we live in a sin filled world so that isn't always the case. However this devotional mentioned some keys to living as healthy as we can...
Getting proper nutrition. Drinking plenty of water. Breathing in fresh air. Exercise as much as we can. Resting and trusting in our Creator. There are plenty of biblical evidences for these 'tricks to proper health' but what really caught my attention was when the author stated:
"God communicates with us in our mind, so isn't in our best interest to get our minds right. And we do that through proper nutrition and taking care of our temples."
Now I'm paraphrasing, but that's the general idea. And when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Follow me here with some reasoning....
In these last days, Satan will do everything he can to deceive people and get them falling for every trick in the book. If we don't have constant communion with our Father, we will fall for the snares of Satan. And how can we discern truth from fiction?
Filling our minds with the Word of God. Let's see what the apostle Paul says about this...

So with this in mind, we know the deceptions are coming. Let's focus on God at every turn. And with a healthy mind and body, this is how I believe God can accomplish this.
Here's a quote that I will paste here, because I think it really brings the point home...
"The brain is the organ and instrument of the mind, and controls the whole body. In order for the other parts of the system to be healthy, the brain must be healthy. And in order for the brain to be healthy, the blood must be pure. If by correct habits of eating and drinking the blood is kept pure, the brain will be properly nourished..."

Just brings it home for me :)
So yeah, diet, rest, trust, air, water, nutrition etc...All these can help us get closer to God and if we want to be as close as we can, maybe we should take our health a bit more serious?
Food for thought....Pardon the pun!

To me and as a believer the picture painted is one of balanced flourishing, where spiritual health isn't isolated but overflows to bless all aspects of life, encouraging believers to prioritize the soul as the foundation.
God the Creator wanting our outward life to be as strong and flourishing as our inward spiritual life.
@jongoldon thanks for updating always and may the Great GOD continue to keep you and your family sound and safe!!!
Without the outward, the inward perishes and vice versa.
You can say that again 👍👍👍
I think taking care our bodies helps us to clear our thoughts.
Very true!
Yes, God so much wish us to be very healthy from our bodies to our spirits.
