I was going to have this big long post today about a bible study...
All the verses were picked out, the research was done and I was ready! In fact, I even had a big long title already planned out for it. I called the 'The Inconvenient Truth About Colossians 2'. Oh boy I was ready...
And then you know what happened, God happened.
Let me put this out there right now....I'm a Protestant Christian. I'm sure there are more of us on the blockchain but here I seem to have dialogue with my Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ. Specifically people like @grandpapulse and @artgirl who have always had some great discussions with me when it comes to faith.
If you aren't too familiar with the differences between Catholics and Protestants, there are plenty. While there are similar doctrinal beliefs, at the end of the day we do disagree with a lot of things. If you really want to do a deep dive in the history of this division, Google 'The Reformation'. I'm sure it's light reading lol
Anywho....
Over the weekend, I was presented with some verses about my belief in the Sabbath day (shout out to @thelastdash) As a Sabbath keeper, I have done my research into this topic and while the majority of Christendom might not believe the same way I do, it's doctrine I hold near and dear to my heart. So I had this blog post planned out...Why Colossians 2 (a chapter in the bible that is frequently used to disregard the Sabbath day) doesn't say what people think it does...Which is beside the point right now because I deleted the entire blog post lol
Hey, maybe I'll post it later this week, who knows. But I know what God wanted me to post instead....

This is Christianity.
This is what it means to be a follower of Christ. We are simple creatures, simple humans. In fact, most of us in the faith believe we are sinful and fallen beings. So when you see respect being shared by people of different faiths and denominations...That shows me God is still in charge.
The fact that we disagree on so much, but @artgirl and I can respectfully discuss doctrines and pray for each other, is big big. Because you want to know why?
God is in charge. Christ is King!
And I truly believe at the end of the day....Catholics and Protestants do faithfully believe that truth. That's what we agree on. And if we keep that in mind, I think we can always have respectful and God-led discussions when it comes to our faith.
Will they change my opinion about my beliefs? More than likely not. Just like I'm sure I won't change theirs. But God works when two or more are talking heavenly things. Who knows what can happen.....
And my brothers and sisters of other faiths and even those that may be atheist and agnostic, please let me be SO clear on this. I believe that God gave us free will. The power and ability to choose. I may never see eye to eye with you on heavenly things, but rest assured, I will always respect your God given right to choose.
Your beliefs and your faith. Or even, no faith at all. That's the beautiful thing about my Lord and Savior, He always wants us to freely choose....I pray you choose Him.

That's a good one, Christianity is a gathering of the people that believe in the principles of Jesus Christ,
that was why the people called them Christ- like, meaning Christians .
But still we have the chances and the abilities to choose where to follow others of like minds to fellowship together and worship the ever living God.
The most important of all these are to live a righteous life that will guarantee our eternity in heaven with the Lord. Weather we are alive or not in the flesh anymore. Thank you!.
