John 14:6 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
There was a rich man who owned an art gallery. He had a son. His son became friends with the beggar along the streets. Their friendship grew and they became fond of each other. There was never a day that passed that they didn't spend time together. Suddenly, the son of the rich man was nowhere to be seen anymore by this beggar. A day turned into two and then into a week. The beggar got to know that the son of the rich man had died.
He was sad and broken. He gathered himself up and got drawing materials. He drew the face of the son of the rich man that died. He went to the rich man's house and tried to see him but he wasn't allowed in. He pleaded with them to make sure the portrait he drew of the man's son was given to him since he was told he has an art gallery. He told them to tell him that the love he has shared with the son made him drew it and decided to give it to the father. He dropped it and left.
The rich man was on his way out one day when this portrait was presented to him and he was told who brought it. He collected it and dropped it. The beggar didn't hear anything from the rich man regarding the portrait. After times had passed, he heard the rich man had died too and all his paintings were to be auctioned off. This beggar gathered up himself to see if anyone would even bit for his painting. He cleaned up, dressed up and managed to squeeze himself into the auction place.
Everyone stood there, admired other paintings but no one seems to care about this beggar's painting. The bidding was about to start before instruction was read that the bidding would start from the portrait of his son. With a disdained look, no one seems to bother about bidding for the painting. The beggar gathered the coins in his loins and with his few coins, he won the portrait since no one else wanted it.
While he was handed the portrait he bought, another instruction came from the instructor and said whoever bought the portrait of his son should be given all his art collections to the shock of everyone seated there.
This clearly explains one simple truth, whoever gets Jesus, gets everything with God. It doesn't matter the challenges that life throws at you. It doesn't matter those who are in your camp. It doesn't matter those who try to pull you down or look at you with disdain. When you have the Son, you have everything with the Father.
That's why Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. No one can get to the Father except through Him. God was intentional when He asked us, believers, to seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness. He said every other thing would be added unto us. The way to God is through Jesus. The way to get everything at the right hand of God - all the pleasures at His right hand is through Jesus.
