Axie Origin (battles V3) comes with brand new interfaces, game mechanics, art, special effects, storylines, and an expansive onboarding experience. Sky Mavis plans to release the global Alpha version of the game very soon and the Full formal game will be launched by the end of Q1 2022.
Alpha version of the game will not yield any reward, it is mostly for community feedback but after the Formal version of the game is launched Sky Mavis plans to transfer the rewards to Origin.
Origin comes with a flurry of new mechanics and changes in the existing mechanics, these changes are not completely finalized so there can be some minor changes.
The mechanics include:
1.Sequential turns: Axies execute attacks immediately as the cards are played.
2.Reset energy and cards each turn: Energy and cards will not accumulate if saved in the previous turn.
3.Card changes: Cards will now have either a defensive or offensive ability rather than having both.
4.Eyes and Ears: Cards form these body parts will now be added to Origins and will be playable.
5.Power ups: Runes and Charms, Runes give passive powers to the axie, Charms are wearables that enhance inherent powers of the axie. Off-chain resource Moonshards will be required to craft these power ups initially. They will also reset after every season.
6.Crit removal: Yes, crits will be removed and replaced by a new mechanic "rage".
Origin will also have starter axies, which are not NFT based which can be used to play both PvE and PvP version of the game. players can also unlock new starter axies through PvE.
Origin is going to be way more expansive and exciting than battles V3, This is a huge step in the right direction from Sky Mavis to make the Axie infinity metaverse more exciting and rich with content.
