It's not one of my favourite tasks.
Not by a long shot.
But it has to be done.
At least, if I want to eat, that is!
I'm talking about cooking, of course.
A girl's gotta eat.
And until I start making a truckload of money consistently, I can't live my not-so-secret dream of having meals out every day.
Or getting takeaway food delivered here most day.
Or having ready-made meals delivered each week.
Or, shock, having a cook.
Can you tell I don't like cooking?! Lol.
I'm sure it has something to do with being banished from the kitchen as a child instead of being taught to cook.
Or perhaps that I was forced to eat food I didn't like.
Or maybe that I was on a strict diet where I wasn't allowed to eat so many of the foods I adored.
Who knows exactly?
But whatever the reason, cooking is about #1073 on the list of activities I would voluntarily do given the option to do anything.
However, a girl's gotta eat.
And I'm very fortunate that at all times we have more than enough food in our cupboard and fridge, so I will not starve.
Very lucky.
Still, how to decide which things to make each night and what to put together?
Tonight, I decided that we needed to use up some leftovers.
I had a bit of this and a bit of that.
There were a couple of new things we bought the other day, as well as a few packets in the cupboard that were getting close to their expiry date.
So, I asked my new bestie*, ChatGPT, to help me create a meal.
I told it the ingredients I had and wanted to use.
I said I wanted a high-protein meal that was quick and easy to make.
It delivered.
I love that I could follow its directions. Do the bits I wanted and ignore the alterations where I didn't have a particular ingredient (or didn't want to use it).
And voila, 15 minutes later, we had this.
The best bit? It tasted great =)
*Well, clearly AI can't actually be my best friend. I think that role is taken by an actual, amazing human ;) But "Chatty" is pretty cool!
Ha that's the kind of knock together meal I'd make, without the AI... BUY I LIKE cooking.
I do use 'Chatty' for lots of things actually though... Asking for eg, what I can substitute for something else in a cake, or what the local council laws are on front fences. I tend to ask AI over Google so I don't have to deal with pop ups,, ads, and dubiously written content. It's a great tool.
Oooh, substitutes. Good idea!
With so many recipes available just by a simple search, I don't think I'm going to use AI for this, but I'm glad your dish turned out well.
Did you get a photo with the recommended recipe or just the recipe?
These were the only photos I took. I think I just deleted the chat today as well, so cannot share the recipe unfortunately! Sorry!
I have done simple searches for recipes before but it occurred to me that if I had a bunch of leftovers that seems hard to search for, while AI could create something for me based on pulling together many recipes.
I'm lazy when it comes to cooking (and many things!). If I don't enjoy something much but have to do it, I want it to be as easy as possible.
