Since 2017 we are living in a Dutch town called Nijmegen , in 2018 our daughter moved out to live on her own and we were living is this big house just the 2 of us 115 m2 4 bedrooms .

This year my daughter and her family found a new bigger place in Hoogland near Amersfoort in Holland. Since my wife and i aren't getting any younger and the current house is actually ment for a larger family we decided to see if we could find a place closer to our daughter and grand daughter .
So i have been searching the market since August 2024 , and we finally found a nice place for people of age 55+ in Hooglanderveen also near Amersfoort.
It's a 2 bedroom house +/- 73m2 and we have a balcony facing south-east .
The travel distance to my daughter is reduced by 50 to 60 minutes by car .
And we have a nice place where we can grow older then we are right now 😜.
So for the past weeks we have been removing old wallpaper, cleaning , painting the new house , laying new floor hanging new curtains , building new closets , packing things in the old house and on December 20th the movers will come and move our stuff to the new house .

it might not be the quality that i normaly make 😉, but it will give you an impression .

it seems to be a bad batch so back to the shop to get new floor tiles
and stacking the old ones ready for pick up.

still a lot of work to do but we will get there in the end .

I’m glad to know you’re doing good!! New year, new home, hehe. Renovating an apartment is a headache but it's worth it because afterwards you feel it as your real home.
we are doing fine indeed , renovating is part of making the place your own .
Ziet er leuk uit de nieuwe woning. De groene kleur op de muur is een hele verbetering. Past goed.
Oh geen tuintje meer. Dat is jammer, maar kleiner wonen zal zoveel beter zijn. Zeker omdat het nu Dichterbij familie is.

Ja… ik begin het ook echt te voelen. Zou het liefst settlen en niet meer verhuizen. Maar ja… we zien wel wat de toekomst brengt een verhuizing zit wel weer in het vooruitzicht hahaha 🫣
