On Sasso di Castalda is located in Basilicata, a region of Southern Italy, a place surrounded by nature that has become famous for the bridge of the moon, a Tibetan bridge that has transformed the quiet town into a very popular destination for all those who want to challenge your fears.
The bridge has been refurbished and is highly secure. To proceed with the walkway of more than one hundred meters, it is necessary to wear appropriate safety equipment, supplied to all those who buy the ticket. We were then equipped with a belt that is firmly attached to our body, equipped with a steel cable with a clamp that connects with the safety steel cable of the bridge.
Although the bridge is perfectly safe, crossing it is not easy, especially for those with a fear of heights. In fact, the bridge rises over 50 meters from the lowest point of the valley, it is possible to look at the bottom through the wooden ladders and even the bravest are hesitant to look down.
Furthermore, between the sides of the mountains there is always a bit of wind and the bridge tends to rock slightly, therefore a further difficulty for those who cross it. Having said that, after the first steps, a feeling of freedom, courage, adrenaline push you to go forward without fear and a fantastic experience!
In reality there are two bridges, a few hundred meters apart, in order to bring you back to the starting point of the adventure.
