In Venezuela, there is our own version of cinnamon rolls, but with slightly different ingredients: "Golfeados" or "Golfiao", a delicious and fresh sweet bread, stretched into a thin ribbon that is delicately rolled up with five turns, taking the shape of a snail, bathed in a syrup of molasses and covered generously with white cheese, achieving the characteristic sweet and salty flavour; It was originally cooked over a wood fire, giving it the aroma of semeruco and garden cuff.

According to researched source, it is said that this unique rolled bread was born in the old "Hoyo de las Tapias", a coffee plantation in the colonial quarter of Petare that supplied its products to Caracas more than a century ago, which is why they have spread to various places and are a must for tasting.

Well, I present to you a recent franchise, a place that is easy to access, clean, with friendly and attentive employees, it is "Golfiao", located on the ground floor of the Humbolt Building, between Avenida Francisco de Miranda (eastbound) and Avenida del Ávila, their prices are very affordable and of course, I could not escape the temptation of tasting a delicacy.

En Venezuela, existe nuestra propia versión de los rolles de canela (cinnamon rolls), pero con ingredientes un poco diferentes, se trata de los "Golfeados"o "Golfiao", un exquisito y fresco pan dulce, al que se estira en una fina cinta que se enrolla delicadamente con cinco vueltas tomando la forma de un caracol, bañado por un almíbar de melaza de papelón (piloncillo) y cubierto generosamente por queso blanco, logrando fundir el sabor dulce y salado característico; originalmente se cocía al calor de la leña, aportandole un aroma de semeruco y de manguito de jardín.

Según la fuente investigada, se dice que éste singular pan enrollado, nace en el antiguo "Hoyo de las Tapias", una hacienda cafetera en el casco colonial de Petare que surtía sus productos a Caracas hace más de un siglo, por lo que se han extendido a diversos lugares y que son parada obligada de degustación.

Pues, les presento una franquicia de reciente data, un sitio de fácil acceso, limpio, con empleados cordiales y atentos, se trata de "Golfiao", ubicados en la planta baja del Edificio Humbolt, entre la Avenida Francisco de Miranda (sentido este) y Avenida del Ávila, sus precios son muy accesibles y por supuesto, no he podido escapar de la tentación de degustar una delicia.
