Hello my friends, today I want to share with you an excursion organized by the Institute of Geology and Paleontology where I work. For any geologist the most important thing is the formation of the planet and the history that the earth itself is telling through the rocky outcrops, which is nothing more than a visible exposure of bedrock or ancient surface deposits on the surface of the Earth and are generally the result of weathering and erosion that have been sculpting the existing rock.
That day we walked through different places where non-Geologists were impressed by so much beauty and history that shows the formation of our country.
In Cuba there is a lot of geological evidence, but one of the most beautiful and unique in the country is the "Valle de Viñales" with its Mogotes in the province of Pinar del Río, also the place has "The amazing Mural of Prehistory" that is painted on the natural wall of the Pita mogote in the Valley of Dos Hermanas, in the Sierra de los Órganos.
As every excursion we also have a time for relaxation and fun, something that can not miss and leave captured in photographs for our own history. Personally, I am very cheerful and adventurous and I love challenges, so this time I was one of the few who rode on the Cebu Bull, which is part of the cultural experience of the place!
To finish the tour we had lunch at the Restaurant "El Ranchón" in the Finca San Vicente, a picturesque place with an excellent gastronomy, where we tasted exquisite local dishes.
Viñales is one of the places I would recommend to anyone who wants to take a walk and get to know a little bit of the history of my beautiful Cuba and I personally would love to visit it again.

Hola mis amigos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una excursión que organizó el Instituto de Geología y paleontología donde trabajo. Para cualquier Geólogo lo más importante es la formación del planeta y la historia que la misma tierra va contando a través de los afloramientos rocoso, que no es más que una exposición visible de roca madre o de depósitos superficiales antiguos en la superficie de la Tierra y son generalmente el resultado de la meteorización y la erosión que han ido esculpiendo la roca existente.
Ese día paseamos por diferentes lugares donde los no Geólogos quedamos impresionados ante tanta belleza y la historia que demuestra la formación de nuestro país.
En Cuba existe muchísima evidencia geológica, pero una de las más bellas y únicas en el país es el “Valle de Viñales” con sus Mogotes que se encuentra en la provincia de Pinar del Río, también el lugar cuenta con “El sorprendente Mural de la Prehistoria” que está pintado sobre la pared natural del mogote Pita del Valle de Dos Hermanas, en la Sierra de los Órganos.
Como toda excursión también contamos con un tiempo de esparcimiento y diversión, algo que no puede faltar y dejar plasmada en las fotografías para nuestra propia historia. En lo personal. soy muy alegre y aventurera y me encantan los retos por lo que en esta ocasión fui una de las pocas que paseó sobre el Toro Cebú que forma parte de la experiencia cultural del lugar!!!
Para terminar el recorrido almorzamos en el Restaurante “El Ranchón” en la Finca San Vicente, un lugar pintoresco y con una excelente gastronomía, donde degustamos de exquisitos platillos oriundos del lugar.
Viñales es unos de los lugares que le recomendaría a cualquier persona que quiera pasear y conocer un poquito de la Historia de mi Cuba bella y a mí en lo personal me encantaría volverlo a visitar.
