Hi Everyone,

Since COVID 2 years ago, we haven't been overseas and the furtherst we've travelled was to Queensland, north of New South Wales. It was a wonderful weekend but the whole family caught COVID for the first time so it wasn't a pleasant ending after we got home. Fast forward a few months, we've been on weekend trips away with friends but most were in the bigger towns within the state but last weekend we went to the real countryside to celebrate a friend's birthday. The house didn't have wifi for guests and we did check that there would be minimal mobile reception for most mobile carriers except for Telstra which I am currently on so when we arrived, we had some internet but was slow unlike back in the city.

The house was right on the main road but further back so you won't be able to hear the traffic. The house was modern, big enough for 3 families, and had a lovely pool and lots of farmland. The kids loved checking out the cows from far away and enjoying the scenery. Throughout the weekend, they rarely used the IPad and watched a few shows on Netflix and spent most of the time playing different games and Beyblades. Beyblades is currently a high toy in school so most kids are into it.

I love the fact that the weekend was away from screens even for adults and enjoy each other's company. We visited the country town center, sat around having some nice conversations and enjoying the country life for 2 days. Hubby and I were thinking if we could live in the countryside if we wanted to but I know I couldn't. Our social network will be gone, our families would be too far from us and the fact our boys are enjoying school I can't possibly see ourselves moving there. Housing prices in the last 2 years have shot up due to everyone selling their properties in Sydney/big cities and moving to the country for a better lifestyle but in our situation, our family is still young, and it is something that is not suitable for long term. Though we can keep in mind this may be something we can consider when we retire.

Great pictures. Weekends and holidays in a rural area can give our family a very good mood.

Yes its like a weekend to recharge

I love the countryside. Your photos are so beautiful.

thanks for dropping by :)

Sure. You're welcome 😍

Living in a country side is more preferable to me but as you said your family is still young and your social network will be gone but maybe when you retire you will consider it.

Let's see how we go but at the moment, definitely not something we will want to do

Beautiful photos
