Thanks! I used to do a chest strap but for these types of runs I just run on wrist watch HR!

Not really sure on what shoes yet - got 2 trail events in 2026 with completely different undergrounds 😁 so might end up with 2 different pairs for the trails.

In februari Link coast marathon i will run this one again. In februari I did this with normal shoes, which was fine with the exception of a swamp we had to cross, so for this I would just look for somewhat lighter gore tex trail shoes.

September Link Jungfrau this marathon, with mountain paths - so would expect heavier and more focus on grip.

Any recommendations?

I have quite a few different pairs, usually just go for the cheapest available. I try to stick to zero drop and a wide toe box for trail but still like my nike super shoes for the road. !LOL I would like to check out Killian Jornet NNormal shoes but I have not seen any down under in Australia yet.

I will check out the Killian Jornet NNormal shoes! They are available here! Thanks!

On supershoes, I have the metaspeed sky paris. Went to the store where I usually go to get some small adjustments in the shoes. They were brutally honest on the idea that I would run on carbonplates haha… “you are to heavy, your technique is not good enough and you don’t run fast enough, so you will injure yourself if you attempt a marathon om them” 😂

So I stick to normal road shoes haha. But they do look fancy

Cool they look fast. I wonder when they build all the responsive foam and carbon plates into trail shoes.
