6th chemo finished

IMG_4997.jpeg

Yesterday my wife had to get her 6th chemo, which was already very intense for us by itself, but on the shared room a young woman was given bad news from her test results. Hardly any privacy , but shared pain. Just heartbreaking. While before it got to my family, I did know lots of people that went through this, but could not even imagine how this is for the people that actually have this. Now being in the specialized hospital you see +/- 80 people getting there chemo’s at the same time. Most get a threatment for +/- 1 h and some like my wife get 4 - 5h of chemo’s every time. Just to imagine this goes on 24/7. While I got my hands full with our own situation atm, when we are in more steady times I am determined to contribute what I can to help stimulate cancer research. Just crazy that soo many people go through this - like a parallel world as people completely lose their identity and just become a cancer patiënt.

Positive news, schools are starting here again, meaning a little more time to make sure I can keep standing. This morning easy pace jog and plan to do +/- 25km cycling later this day.

I'm happy to hear the treatment is ongoing. How many rounds of chemo is planned for her?

Helping with the research for cancer treatment is a noble cause. I used to do that myself, but had to cancel my donations due to my new (or at least my current) situation.

I hope you have a great ride later.
And... don't be a stranger 😄
As always: I'm here for you my friend

What you say is absolutely true, being in that situation is like being in a parallel world. I'm glad your wife received chemotherapy number 6 There are many people who haven't been able to. What a beautiful thought you have about contributing; I know God will thank you for it.A hug. To the family.
