Hey there! Welcome back at my trainingsblog towards the Spijkenisse Spark Marathon.

Last few days I had not been running except for a single session where I focussed on shorter intervals (400m). I was not injured at all, but I was away with my family in a nice forest area. While I could use the extra trainingsdays towards the marathon I find family time more important. It was a beautiful area where we stayed, but my plan to run after the kids went to bed was not doable as there was no lights nearby and it had been raining quite a bit. The risk of tripping / falling was too big for me. The alternative was to make me-time and run during daylight - but decided I didn’t want to miss any family time. From training perspective - only a few days and I could use some recovery.
We got back today, so time to pick up where we left! This Sunday will feature my main training (35-36km progressive). As that is an intense session I will have to balance my Friday and Saterday trainingload!
Today: easy run & strides!
Short run, with some speed elements. I picked 1km warming up followed by 10x 30 sex strides (with 45 sec easy run between sets)

Despite that it was cold and there was some rain, it felt good. It was the first training with multiple layers again. While I prefer starting a little too cold on long runs - on short runs I will have to dress a little smarter.
Happy running!

Great job! I hope you enjoyed that family time, it's the most important thing in life!
Keep up that training, you will be ready for the big day before you know it!
Thank you!
