With 10 weeks to go until the next marathon - which will be a trail marathon on the beach and in the Dunes. I decided to spice up my recovery run a little today.
After yesterday I felt strong enough to not just sit and wait until I am fully recovered but also to go out and have some fun.

The route I picked was mostly mountainbike trails and some simple hills to go up and down. I was very happy that I took my trailshoes with me as it was muddy and slippery but so much fun!

As I realized I do have to be a little careful not to skip recovery in total I decided to take a few seconds of rest on top of the viewpoint everytime I reached the top.

The mountainbike routes were completely empty, which was awesome as that left all the good stuff for me!

With my goal to run the September Jungfrau marathon I have to make much more elevation gains in my weekly training. As this will also help me reach my sub 3 goal and benefit my coast marathon I plan to do two hill sessions every week from now on. Hopefully this will help me build enough muscle to have just as much fun and succesful year in 2026 as I had in 2025.

On todays run, I was glad to see no real spikes in heartrate other than at the steepest climbs and even there they were back to normal within half a minute after hitting flatter ground again!
Happy running!
Hill intervals is actually one of my favorite running sessions 🤩
Good for you! You got to have some fun while prepping. You still got in some nice km and the pictures are beautiful. Keep that training up, I can't wait to see you accomplish a new personal best!
Keep on pushing man !PAKX

PAKXtokens.A marathon in the beach is definitely tough, the sand slows you down and requires more effort to let you move forward
Yeah 100%! Did the first edition of this marathon last Februari. Cold and tough but great fun!
This is really impressive.Running on empty mountain bike trails and including hill training seems perfect for your marathon preparation. Two sessions a week will help improve both your muscles and stamina.
