Hi, hive runners, how are you? This time, I'm not going to talk about my running training, but as someone who participated in a running event.
About two weeks ago, there was an event in my city organized by the government, which collaborated with the running community in my city. I participated in one of them. The event organizers asked the community to be part of this running event to help as crew members. The head of the running community ended up recruiting members who wanted to be crew members.

At first, I signed up to be a marshal because I thought it would be fun to cheer on the runners and give them extra energy. However, because more men signed up, I was assigned to take care of the refreshments instead. It was a shame, but I still enjoyed it.

I got ready at 2:30 a.m. and left for the venue at 3 a.m., because we had to gather at 3:30 a.m. Luckily, the streets were already quite busy, so I wasn't too scared to be on the road alone because it was still quite dark.
When we arrived at the location, we all changed into clothes according to the colors that determined our job descriptions. Then we took a group photo before starting our respective tasks.

All marshals had scattered across all designated points to secure the roads and cheer on the runners, while others followed the vehicles and carried all the drinks to one water station. Meanwhile, I and five others prepared drinks, fruit, and, most importantly, medals for all finishers.

Perhaps because this was the local government's first event, they did not make the venue sterile, and because it was also an open sports venue for the public, there were many people passing by and it was getting crowded.
Fortunately, when the first participant finished, we had already completed our work. My friend immediately gave the medal to the finisher and I handed out drinks to them.

Although I felt a little tired, I felt happy when congratulating all the finishers. We even cheered happily when the last finisher arrived. We were touched because he had reached the finish line strongly and happily.

This was my first experience as a crew member. I hope there will be another opportunity for me to be a crew member in a running event like the races I often participate in.
