Hola queridos amigos de Hive, espero que estén muy bien. Hoy vengo a contarles sobre mi cabello y cómo pase de alisarlo constantemente a tenerlo natural. Yo empece a planchar mi cabello cuando estaba en tercer año de bachillerato, recuerdo que le pedí a mi papá que me regalara una plancha y bueno, me la terminó comprando. Yo de verdad amaba ir a clases y a todos lados con mi cabello liso, me sentía hermosa.
Hello dear friends of Hive, I hope you are very well. Today I'm here to tell you about my hair and how I went from straightening it constantly to having it natural. I started flat ironing my hair when I was in my third year of high school, I remember I asked my dad to give me a flat iron and well, he ended up buying it for me. I really loved going to class and everywhere with my hair straight, I felt beautiful.
Luego de tanto tiempo usando la plancha, empece a notar que mi cabello estaba un poco maltratado, porque yo tampoco tenia el conocimiento en ese momento de que cuando se utiliza calor, hay que usar un protector térmico, mantenerlo hidratado, no exponerlo a temperaturas muy altas, y cortar las puntas cada cierto tiempo. Entonces, ahí fue donde decidí cortármelo.
After so much time using the flat iron, I started to notice that my hair was a bit damaged, because I didn't know at that time that when you use heat, you have to use a thermal protector, keep it hydrated, don't expose it to very high temperatures, and cut the ends every so often. So, that's when I decided to cut it.
La verdad a mi me gustaba mi nuevo look, pero al haberme cortado demasiado el cabello debía mantenerlo liso. Pase todo el año 2019 con el cabello corto, en todo ese tiempo nunca me creció o al menos eso notaba yo. Hubo un día donde la electricidad subió de tal manera que me daño la plancha y otros artefactos de mi hogar. Lamentablemente no tenia dinero para comprar otra, y ahí es donde comienza mi transición a rizos. Quiero decirles que todo este proceso de alguna manera se me hizo un poco mas fácil y sencillo ya que entramos en pandemia, entonces empece a cuidarlo más y mantenerlo al natural.
The truth is that I liked my new look, but having cut my hair too short I had to keep it straight. I spent the whole year 2019 with short hair, in all that time my hair never grew or at least that's what I noticed. There was a day when the electricity went so high that it damaged my hair straightener and other appliances in my home. Unfortunately I didn't have the money to buy another one, and that's where my transition to curls began. I want to tell you that this whole process somehow became a little easier and simpler for me as we entered the pandemic, so I started to take more care of it and keep it natural.
Desde ese momento en que ya no pude planchar mi cabello, note que realmente necesitaba un respiro para recuperarse, poco a poco fue creciendo, se empezó a ver mas vivo, y su forma natural de rizos empezaron a notarse. Yo misma me corto las puntas, porque la verdad si hace una gran diferencia y ayuda a mantenerlo sano. Así que bueno amigos, quiero mostrarles como se ven mis rizos actualmente.
From that moment on when I could no longer flat iron my hair, I noticed that it really needed a break to recover, little by little it started to grow, it started to look more alive, and its natural curls started to show. I cut the ends myself, because it really does make a big difference and helps to keep it healthy. So friends, I want to show you how my curls look now.
También quiero compartir con ustedes los productos que estoy usando, son de una marca llamada Skala, la cual proviene de Brasil y son libres de crueldad animal. Normalmente lo único que hago es lavar mi cabello, usar acondicionador y luego una crema para peinar, en este caso estoy usando "Mais Cachos" que me provee hidratación a mis rizos.
I also want to share with you the products I am using, they are from a brand called Skala, which comes from Brazil and are animal cruelty free. Normally all I do is wash my hair, use conditioner and then a styling cream, in this case I am using "Mais Cachos" which provides hydration to my curls.
Quiero aclarar que no tengo nada en contra de alisar el y usar artefactos de calor para el cabello, siempre y cuando tomemos en cuenta la importancia de cuidar y protegerlo, informarnos bien y aceptar que todos los cabellos son hermosos sin importar su forma o textura.
