Today being Sunday. I ought to go to church, but the lockdown and the directive from the government that we should stay at home and safe have prevented us to gather in the church as usual.
I never for once think or envisage that there could be a situation or something that can hinder the activities of the churches worldwide as we have now, particularly in my country where we value religion more than any other thing.
It is not that it is nothing wrong with being religious but when it doesn't affect the value of the society in a positive way then, there is a problem. Crime, poverty will only be the order of the day which we have the evidence of it in almost all of the African nation today.
We have few industries or I should say nothing at all but I don't want to exaggerate things more expected but when we have 36 states in my nation with only less than 1/3 of it with industries then I won't say I exaggerate by saying we have zero industries.
In every street you go, you will surely see a church or two though I'm not particular about church alone here all the religion we have. This shows the level of our belief in the supernatural phenomenon and the fact that we are only particular about the fear of not going to hellfire like we don't need anything else in life.

If the fear of not going to hellfire or losing your soul is the reason why you only desist from evils and wickedness in high places then you aren't human enough. I so much agree with Albert on that.
Religion certainly fills people with fear and it is one of the reasons why many are afraid of living since we have been told life is vanity and also for us to be contented with what we have.
How is someone going to grow with that mindset? Living is not limited to just surviving alone but the ability for someone to seek knowledge and determine to make a difference by leaving a legacy behind even after the person is gone.
If care is not taken one could be thrown into the bondage of religion that one will be afraid of seeking knowledge and after perishable things as the religious have it.
You know what's funny. In Romania is being built the biggest cathedral in the world and we're one of the poorest country of the world. I'm not a religious person but, I can't overlook Jesus and his teachings, which are common sense and logical when you ponder for a bit on his words but, he didn't make no church. People did that, priests and others that wanted to portray themselves as holders of the word of truth and somehow close to God. There is no such thing as close or distant to God. There is a divine essence, energy, that animates everything in the Universe from the tinniest atom to the biggest creature and planet, including human kind, and that one could call God but, as soon as you label it you limit it and try to frame it and that's impossible. I don't go to church, I never will and don't believe the church will help me in any way... I am not against the ones who do. Heaven and Hell are inside everyone's heart and mind, and the church itself is one's belief in God. I don't need any of these.
I'm glad you reason along with me. There is no where one cannot talk to his God and answer his prayers. Having church everywhere doesn't make a nation holy. Until we understand that we need more industries than churches people will remain poor in such nation
