Standing together

in GEMS4 years ago (edited)

Each and every one of us is an individual who stands apart from every other human on the planet, surrounded by millions of people, but alone within one's own self, thoughts, ideas and ideals.

Humans don't share a group mind; Many minds, or consciousnesses, linked together into a single, collective-consciousness or intelligence. Rather, we all think individually and for ourselves. Sure, we may come together collectively however that collective is still made up of multiple individual minds that can, and often do, think in different directions.

With all the minds all working individually around the world we often find some choosing to work in different directions and certainly many having completely opposing ideas and ideals. I wonder if this is where humanity goes wrong and I also wonder why, in all the years humans have been around, we have not evolved in the group-mind direction.

Ants (and bees) are called superorganisms which means their communities have specialised elements that work towards the common-good and can even make collective decisions about actions taken for the future. It's almost like the colony, in its entirety, forms a single brain...And it all works like clock-work with one purpose.

...And here's us humans, the smartest animal on the planet, still arguing over borders, resources and coveting what someone else has.

But we are strong, each in our purpose, and we are all more strong together.
