El día #11 del Blogging challenge trata acerca del libro favorito de la infancia. Y la verdad es que nunca he sido de leer mucho, pero sin embargo, creo que el libro que más me gustaba en el colegio era uno que se llama “Juan Salvador Gaviota” escrito por Richard Bach.
Day # 11 of the Blogging challenge is about a childhood favorite book. And the truth is that I have never been to read much, but nevertheless, I think that the book that I liked the most in school was one called "Jonathan livingston seagull" written by Richard Bach.
Es un libro corto, pero que en aquel entonces me parecía muy bonito, y eso es porque trata acerca de las dificultades de la vida y no rendirse ante las adversidades que se nos presenten.
It is a short book, but at that time it seemed very nice, and that is because it deals with the difficulties of life and not giving up in the face of adversities that come our way.
El protagonista es una gaviota Llamado Juan, joven y de espíritu aventurero y curioso, siempre estaba tratando de ver hasta donde llegaban sus límites, pero estas actitudes lo llevaron a problemas con su bandada, quienes solamente estaban interesados en comer y dormir, lo que hace habitualmente las gaviotas.
The protagonist is a seagull named Juan, young and of
Adventurous and curious spirit, he was always trying to see how far his limits were, but these attitudes led him to problems with his flock, who were only interested in eating and sleeping, which seagulls usually do.
Hubieron varias oportunidades en las que Juan se comportaba diferente a los demás miembros de su grupo, por lo que siempre era repudiado y reprendido, pero aun así el seguía con ese deseo insaciable de ir mas allá de lo normal.
There were several opportunities in which Juan behaved differently from the other members of his group, which is why he was always repudiated and reprimanded, but even so he continued with that insatiable desire to go beyond the normal.
Esto ponía a los padres de Juan entre la espada y la pared ya que le tenían mucho amor y cariño a su hijo, pero tenía que obedecer las órdenes del jefe de la bandada, por lo que hicieron que Juan se fuera al destierro.
This put Juan's parents between a rock and a hard place since they had a lot of love and affection for their son, but he had to obey the orders of the head of the flock, so they made Juan go into exile.
Se fue hacia los acantilados y a pesar de la situación se concentro en mejorar su técnica de vuelo y en su aprendizaje conoció a 2 gaviotas que se aparecieron bajando desde lo más alto del cielo y luego volvieron a allí. Uno de ellos se vuelve su instructor de vuelo de quien aprende mucho y el otro le dice que la vida se trata solamente de la velocidad como lo creía Juan, que había algo más allá de eso, la “perfección”.
He went to the cliffs and despite the situation he concentrated on improving his flight technique and in his learning he met 2 seagulls that appeared coming down from the highest point of the sky and then returned there. One of them becomes his flight instructor from whom he learns a lot and the other tells him that life is only about speed as Juan believed, that there was something beyond that, “perfection”.
Luego de un tiempo volvió a la tierra de donde lo exiliaron para enseñarles todo lo que había aprendido y aun así sigue encontrando renuencia entre ellos, pero descubre a un joven de nombre Pedro que también pensaba similar a él desde hacía un tiempo, y por eso decide enseñarle todo lo que sabe a él y a otras gaviotas que también tenían curiosidad. Al morir Juan, su discípulo Pedro se dedica a transmitir lo que su mentor le enseño para así liberar a las demás gaviotas del régimen tan controlador y limitante en el que vivían.
After a while he returned to the land from where he was exiled to teach them everything he had learned and even so he continues to find reluctance among them, but he discovers a young man named Pedro who also thought similar to him for some time, and that is why He decides to teach everything he knows to him and other seagulls who were also curious. When Juan died, his disciple Pedro dedicated himself to transmitting what his mentor taught him in order to free the other seagulls from the very controlling and limiting regime in which they lived.
Creo que es una historia muy bonita que habla mucho sobre el aprendizaje acerca de la vida y el volar es una metáfora sobre el camino personal de superación, a pesar de las adversidades e incomprensiones de la vida y nuestros entornos y a pesar de que lo leí hace mucho tiempo lo voy a volver a releer muchas veces porque sé que puedo seguir aprendiendo cosas de esa pequeña gran historia.
I think it is a very beautiful story that talks a lot about learning about life and flying is a metaphor about the personal path of improvement, despite the adversities and misunderstandings of life and our surroundings, and even though I read it a long time ago, I am going to reread it many times because I know that I can continue to learn things from that great little story.
